I wouldn’t even call it a conspiracy.  More of a social stance.  Again, when you are listing games not even from 2020 rather than a game generally well regarded that is from 2o2o you aren’t really hiding anything.

You are entitled to your opinion, but any game has problems. We’re talking about a game that even when it didn’t win was in contention for GOTY at many sites. Yet here not a single writer found a place for it in their top 10. Several even listed games not from this year in their top 10 for 2o20. And this was after

Or are there even worst games out there that nobody knows about that deserve to be on a list like this

I haven’t even played the game, but I have read much about the controversies surrounding the game and followed Kotakus coverage. Some of the stuff about why it’s divisive among gamers is just stupid BS. For Kotaku their hang up seems mostly about the crunch. They even complained and wrote an article stating as

Yeah.  Maybe because that isn’t tied specially to Valhalla whereas their problems with TLOU2 are?  I don’t know.  I think the bias against TLOU2 is a little over the top.

I thought the tree clues were pretty clear. They definitely leaned noticeably more in the direction you were supposed to travel. Then when you hit the next part they swayed evenly back and forth, but you are supposed to travel in the direction of the fallen tree. I breezed through that chapter. Pun intended. The

That seems to have always been true so far. At least on consoles. Physical media seem to go on sale much faster. Sometimes you can get discounts even on a pre-order if you buy physical. The digital discounts do come though, but you may have to wait a month or more after the game has launched and the prices still

There’s a pretty strong bias against TLOU2 here on Kotaku. It’s sort of the inverse of Hades which gets an extraordinary amount of praise. I think I only saw TLOU2 mentioned on one of the individual lists and even then only as an honorable mention. It pretty clearly comes down to some of controversies like “crunch”

I found the overall story sort of disjointed. The Order stuff is nearly a throw away story line despite having an interesting twist... which oddly happens behind way too much busy work and after what feels like main ending in Norway. Only the Fulke story has any meaningful ties to the Eivor/Sigurd story line. And

I might check it out.  I could go for something bite sized after playing several large open world games back to back.

That is mentioned later.

What kind of game is Carto?

You could say the same of water levels, but I think that’s just the nature of those two biomes. Or, to put it another way, most biomes are meaningless and are just back drops to your standard platforming. But with water and ice they meaningfully alter your experience.

That’s a disingenuous argument when they were actively lying about the state of their product.

They’re just another biome like any other. You could ask the same about jungles, deserts, water, or even urban areas. Each comes with their own qualities. Ice is what it is. It’s slippery and cold so those levels/areas have one or both of those qualities.

I didn’t have many issues with WDL.

That doesn’t really apply to the Smash tournament, but it does to the rest.  The JoyCon guys did inquire about getting some official licensing, but apparently Nintendo never responded.

2020 wasn’t already a big year in term of gaming. If it wasn’t for fall guys and among us the whole year would have been pretty bad.

The underwater one was Critical Depth. I still have that PS1 disc. I loved that game and thought it was very underrated.

It might be.  The game has been a long series of bugs for me yet I keep coming back.  Despite everything there is something compelling about the world.  If you do have a backlog of games you are wanting to play it might be best to knock out a few of those and return to Cyberpunk at a later date.
