That was my reaction as well. It’s clearly meant to be a showcase for the the controller and easily succeeds at that goal. But it’s also a fantastic platformer in its own right. I only wish it had been longer!

Nice list. You’re obviously a big fan of the Metroidvania games as am I. I played and loved Carrion, but haven’t yet tried Outbuddies. It’s clearly a game that has gone under the radar for me. I need to check it out.
I’m not all that surprised by the dual console releases by Sony and MS. MS had already released an all-digital XBox One S and physical sales continue to decline relative to digital sales. The only surprising aspect was MS launching with a lower powered model.
Hey, since you are here and we’ve been discussing this I’ll give you my daily update. Yup, two new bugs last night. I was working today through the Panam missions and when you first go to meet her in that empty lot my car wouldn’t drive into the lot. It just sort of came to a halt and vibrated. I got out thinking…
I’m playing on a next gen console and the game is still buggy as hell. I literally experience new bugs every single time I play. Many are cosmetic, but I’ve also hit a few bugs that impeded main mission progression and basically ruined items for one reason or another. Then throw in a few hard crashes and it has…
It just has a lot more issues than a console UI should.
Well, to be fair it might nuke your external drive. But, yes, Cyberpunk is way more buggy.
I could be. However, you know that “bug of the night” thing I was talking about earlier where I find a new big or two every play session? Well, let me fill you in on last night. I got two new ones again last night.
Not sure how I feel about lists containing games not even from the year in question. It’s not actually a list of games “of” 2020. It’s a list you played “in” 2020 which in turn kind of makes the year meaningless.
I honestly think you are just on the lucky end of the spectrum with Cyberpunk. Because for me it there new bugs every time I play. And by I mean ones I haven’t seen in the game yet. Last night, along with bugs like a hard crash which I had sadly seen before, I had a gun that wouldn’t shoot and enemies that were…
Oh, I could go on and on with the Cyberpunk bugs (countless lighting glitches, NPCs stuck in t-poses, floating objects, etc...). I haven’t hit the save corruption issues thankfully, but this game has it all. I only listed mere fraction of what I’ve personally run into and I’m not even that far into the game.
The scope is just so much larger with Cyberpunk. It doesn’t have any issues other games haven’t had, but it has basically every issue any game has ever had.
Oh, I played both at launch. I have plenty of experience with buggy games since they also tend be the games I like to play (Bethesda games, AC games, or pretty much any open world game). Cyberpunk is WAY beyond any of those. Beyond countless cosmetic bugs I see while playing the game flat crashes and/or forces me…
The One S? No. It’s not the same thing as the Series S. It was just a refresh of the XBox One. It came in a smaller package and was actually a little more powerful than the XBox One.
On one hand I’m actually enjoying the game, but on the other it’s the buggiest game I’ve ever played. And even beyond the bugs it feels unfinished. For example, the crafting system is completely broken and nonsensical. Numerous items can be disassembled for more parts than were used to create them. If feels like…
I had many great gaming related gifts. The NES, SNES, TG16, Genesis, and Gameboy were all gifts. I think they were all Christmas gifts. I loved all of them. But if I had to choose I’d go with the TG16. It was less common than the other systems and thus felt more unique among my friends. And the HuCards felt sort…
I’ve never been a fan of the name Warface either. But other than that from that list WarriOrb is just awkward to say.
Astro’s Playroom surprised me. It’s obviously meant to be a showcase for the new controller and at that it succeeds marvelously. But it’s also a genuinely great platformer in its own right. The only drawback, as you noted, is that it’s short. It left me wanting more.
I don’t see any difference in the point between something like The Oscars and The Game Awards. Both are just an industry patting itself in the back. Whatever differences there may be are probably due to the fact the movie industry is much older and the Oscars itself is over 80 years older than The Game Awards.
The supply is limited. A LOT more people want the systems than have been able to get one. You guys are effectively saying someone should try harder. Well, think that through. The number of available units doesn’t change. So if someone does try harder and does grab a new system then that just means someone else…
