Oh I agree and have been stating as much about iOS for quite some time now. However, that said, 'Metro' hasn't even been released yet and I feel this way... surely I cannot be alone.

When I first saw W8 I was really impressed, however, the more I see of it I have this overwhelming feeling of 'meh'. The interface looks interesting and I really like the concept of constantly updating information, i.e. the live tiles, but I am not sure how well the interface design will wear over an extended period…

I said the same thing re downgrading to iOS 6, however, did so anyway when I needed to restore my phone. Google's web app is actually decent so I don't miss the old maps app and I reckon most of Apple problems will be resolved by the release of the iPhone 5s next year.
