There's an excellent BBC documentary which details the effect of show breeding on the health of purebred dogs, focusing on cavalier king charles spaniels, german shepherds, and ridgebacks, that you should watch. There was a pekingese that won Crufts a few years that had to be seated on ice packs for the subsequent

This is the AKC breed standard for German Shepherds:

This is turning into a "show off your mutt" thread. I approve.

Really? And here I am, hoping they all go to hell.

Hopping on the dog picture bandwagon. This is my dog. He's a rescue mutt that might actually be an Olde English Bulldogge. Particularly relevant to this discussion as the Olde English Bulldogge is an attempt to breed back to the healthier working bulldog of the past. It's a super rare breed, so I don't think it's very

This is insanity. Who the hell needs a tv this badly? Isn't like, 98% of homes in America have at least one tv already? Why do we need to go Hunger Games style to get another one?

Wow O_o

"from an evolutionary standpoint, our bodies are very clearly made to process meat"

Activism without passing judgement on those who do not adopt your lifestyle is usually considered non-irritating (And I'm using "you" in the general sense). Peta will get people 'frothing at the mouth' angry, while Alicia Silverstone is viewed as someone who is just...quirky. And quirky gets people interested, even if

They're irritating because it's a meat-eating culture.

YES. I can't let skin imperfections be and it drives my boyfriend crazy. In a non-sex way.

I just wanted them to have better tools. The tweezer was ineffective and the needle needed a scoopier end. ALSO: HORK
