Some of those engineering tricks are rather effective, though - things like the post-cat heat exchanger in my Prius’s exhaust, recovering exhaust energy to warm the engine and the cabin up. (It also acts as the EGR cooler, too.)

I think the Frontier is the truck people want but are ashamed to admit it. Its the simple, old school small truck they are always complaining no one builds. Frankly, its a helluva value for what you get, just so long as you can accept the interior isn’t pretty.
