Yes! That’s exactly my point!

A bitch to keep clean, but a labor of love.

I don’t have one. I can’t stand having something around that’s doesn’t work or can’t be used. Getting it working would be my main priority

WHY must it rain on a SATURDAY? :(

If I have to suffer through large aircooled Project Car Hell, I’m taking everyone along for the ride.

Why do I feel like I’m in the minority when I say that I think the media attention is an over reaction to the situation.

Now playing

Am I the only one who sees the name of this car and immediately thinks “GET IN THE ZAM: AUTOZAM”?

...does that mean he’s not coming on then?

Funny, I just bought a Vibe for my twins who are newly minted drivers. For me, it was a Corolla platform with a hatch that appeals to me for new drivers. The drive train is reliable and parts are cheap. It is easy to work on should the need arise. It handles better than you think. It averages 27 mpg in mixed driving.

My total was around 35 as well from horrible decisions: Isuzu Impulse turbos(yes, more than one) and a Caddy Catera, to military rigs and barely reliable classics. Then i got married and had a kid. The wife has a lexus SUV and I have a pickup with 4 doors. The only thing that burned me out were the bills. I still wish

I’ll take it in stages; maybe two unreliable old cars will be more tolerable than three, now that I’ve sold one off. One of my current cars is a 2ZZ-swapped MR2 so I’m already a fan of that powertrain.

He most definitely did. Mrs LittleBlue6 wanted a small hatchback for under $4k CAD - and was bouncing between a 07 Nissan Versa and a 06 Ford Focus ZX5. Thankfully, I convinced her to test drive an 06 Matrix XRS with the 2ZZ even though it was just a bit over the budget. She loved it, and I am happy when I have to

Crap, you’re my future, and we’re the same age. I’ve been juggling a three-car lineup of modded performance cars all over 22 years old with astronomical mileages, and I’ve found myself pricing out Corolla iMs. There has to be a happy medium somewhere in there.

I find that as a person gets older, he generally starts preferring to buy less problematic cars. I give David Tracy 20 years before he purchases a car that he can bring home without a tow truck.

Don’t put the sealant on the threads at all - the sealing occurs at only the two tapered faces. Usually the copper is soft enough to deform and match the brass side for a good seal. You might want to make sure that the nut is not bottomed, and try with the gasket sealant.

While it seems pretty unwise for most normal people to get involved in a multi-car transaction involving someone who controls your living situation, somehow you make this seem like a logical sequence of events.

FTFY

tbf - my last nissan gave me 250k problem free miles over 10 years. I literally only replaced brakes/tires and did fluid changes. I never even had to replace the clutch after that many miles. Best 13k i have ever spent by an order of magnitude. Caveats to anecdote /= data and all that.

I’d assume they will seek Maxima punishment. Can’t be a Rogue with inspections and regulations. Will never be a Titan of industry, on the Frontier of innovation and quality behaving like this. Time to turn a new Leaf and cut out this Qashqai

I’m not defending them - I think it looks insane too - but if I spent $50k on something I wouldn’t let my mower anywhere near it either.
