I think Bronco will “convert” a lot of people who aren’t die hard Jeep. I have a buddy with a 1992 YJ that he’s owned since it was about 4 years old and the thing is pristine—he loved Jeeps for a long time, but he grew up in a Ford family so he loves Ford too [his first car was an Escort GT and he now has an OJ Bronco Read more

Suzuki would be such a great truck over here right now...maybe one of the big automakers will invest and badge engineer them. Jimnys would be all over the damned place for local runabouts—basically anything but where long distance interstate travel is required

Agreed on the CVT--if it’s not a proper auto, I’m out.  And cautiously optimistic on the interior

I don’t think it’s an atrocity, it’s just not that special. Too iterative I think. Headlights need work as does the rectangular grille; it just doesn’t really...work. I do like the black greenhouse but I seem to be in the minority on that point. I do really like the rear and taillight treatment. Read more

Get a Blomberg...french doors, simply styled, no logos anywhere, minimal fuckery, and it’s low priced because it’s a European brand not well known in the US.

Holy shit is Infiniti really putting larger MSRPs than Audi/BMW/Merc on the sticker?  Wow.  I also thought they were RWD architecture but it shows how closely I’ve been watching Infiniti lately.

These days I am very much preferring “generic” as everyone else goes to some crazy origami shit that looks just terrible to my eyes.  If it’s somewhat cohesive and looks decent, it’s a standout in today’s design norms

I’m in complete agreement, I just find it fascinating that people I suggest get a minivan [this is mostly women in the 30-40 age range] look at me aghast and say “I’m NEVER driving a minivan!!!” and then they go get a Toyota Highlander or Sequoia or XYZ big SUV and settle for higher price, less utility, less Read more

I parked next to a Shelby F150 the other day at the convenience store [I honestly did not know these existed] and right on the fender it said 707HP under the Cobra badge. Read more

I absolutely love this in wagon/estate form.  Please Peugeot bring it here when you come back [I know you won’t but I’m just trying to find one thing to be optimistic about in the year of our Dumpster Fire 2020]
