Truth. I still get bouts of that sometimes, and I'm 22. Thankfully there's chocolate rich teas and decaf chai....
“Second, always remember that, nine times out of ten, you probably aren’t having a full-on nervous breakdown – you just need a cup of tea and a biscuit. You’d be amazed how easily and repeatedly you can confuse the two. Get a big biscuit tin.
Full disclosure, I have a pink hardhat I use for field work.
I think it's a peplum gone horribly wrong.
Yeah, no. No one has the right to yell at service staff for any reason. At. All.
Colma, which is just outside of SF is neat if you're into macabre stuff...it's the necropolis for the bay area. The HI hostel on Geary street is great and the staff are wonderful, they were super acomodating to the large and somewhat rowdy group I was with. There's a gallery on Maiden lane that's interior was done by…
Be careful. Being asked out while you're at work can be a really uncomfortable experience because a power dynamic is at play, barista has no way of knowing you won't march up to their manager to say awful things if they turn you down. Work is a forced relationship environment, so be very very careful.
Chamois cream! Chamois but'r and okole stuff are the two best for preventing it!
You just described my life. I don't register as first nations to most people cause I'm also half sephardic so most people guess south american, and the amount of horrible vitriol I hear is astounding.
The post surf naked jump into the river is one of my favorite things about where I live. The burn of the glacial water on your skin is fuckin' unbeatable.
Beach spray, messy bun. Donesies.
Ohmygod, yes. I have one of their jackets from when they were still Skyler, and I love it.
I disagree with blockades, for the most part. Engagement is a really important part of getting our cause heard, and the flashmob friendship dances were the best way by far to do that.
Idle No More was another one that brought out the closet racists, I was too young to remember Oka and Kahnawake but INM and the Enbridge pipeline have been two of my big defining experiences as a first nations young adult thus far (Hopefully the 'no' wasn't just a 'give us more money'), G20 was a big one too.
Yes, towards First Nations people...and to Asian/South Asian people (but in private mostly). I see it as backhanded comments about us not paying taxes (uh, I pay em out the wazoo), having teachers kowtow (not true. At all.) and being stupid and poor mostly. Also by the way native women in particular are treated like…
It's a west coast thing. People out here are a LOT more overtly racist, and it manifests as a kind of resentment.
Yep. Chug= because the stereotype is we chug liquor, mouthwash, rubbing alcohol etc
Generational abuse is it.
Their coffee is alright, and cheaper than starschmucks. If I'm giving my money to an evil chain, might as well give it to the Cthulhu of fast food chains.
