A diversity of takes is always good, but I’m not sure about the reviewer’s specific reason for scoring the game so harshly; in this case, it’s fair to say it boils down to it not being similar enough to much older entries.

I’ve worked in the industry, and both there and as a private player I’ve had insane campaigns of harassment and threats that lead to having to involve the police, and eventually an arbitration court over them...

that’s why finding a reviewer with similar taste is important. 

This one goes out to everyone who has ever said “only fans of this series should be on the review”, a practice that serves nobody except the fans who were already gonna play the game anyway. 

I always consider Deep Impact well worth rewatching, something I cannot say about Armageddon; once was enough for it.

And his character actually gets to be a Scottish guy who is now American. No explanation and also no trying to fake a bad US accent.

And now I have to see it. I enjoy Gerard Butler.

I’m still not sure how Leelee Sobieski and Helen Hunt never played a daughter and mother in a movie or TV show. 

To this day, Leelee Sobieski’s acting near the end when she sitting on the motor bike behind Elijah Wood, crying and saying “Dad!” over and over again just wrecks me.

If anyone wants another more “Serious” planet killer comet movie, Greenland (2020) with Gerard Butler is good. I initially skipped because it was within the string of awful B-movies he was making. But it’s a good one.

I always consider Deep Impact the more serious and Armageddon the more fun. Both are great and can rewatch anytime.

In Deep Impact the crew actually dies, which gives it a gravitas.

In Deep Impact you see that while earth is saved, Washington has to be rebuilt so there is an extra level of hopefulness.

“...that nasty smell when it overheats says all...”  There’s no need to overheat a teflon pan, but a pan with a heavier bottom will hold the heat better when food is put into it.

When cooking a fried egg with this method, do the whites cook all the way through without the bottom burning or the yolk getting too hard? When cooking eggs overeasy, will the eggs still release easily once flipped?
