He isn’t saying that he created Bucky.

The knockdown dragout final fight scene between Peter and Harry in their civilian clothes is really good and also weirdly funny.

I mean, to out yourself as one of the privilege-blind so fast was really kinda a ballsy thing to do. I mean, it’s one thing to be wrong, but to be just so outspoken of it is just...something to see.

Sam says straight up he knows the kind of loan they qualify for and gets denied because of vaugeries surrounding “tightening up.”

Sam shows him government contracts, indicating proof of his income. Clearly, other elements are at play, but thanks for defending the Bank Officer!

Hell Ant-Man was able to start and run his own business WHILE UNDER HOUSE ARREST.

It’s totally a race thing. If that were Steve, or hell even Ant-Man the bank would open the vault.

How to tell someone is white without seeing them or them saying so.

I gotta say, if Steve Rogers had walked into that bank, they’d have given him a loan.

Uh-oh. We’ve got one of those “I don’t see color!!1!”/”You must be the real racist since you keep talking about racism!!!!” racists.

You should probably not watch this show. It’s going to be way above your knuckle-dragging IQ.

(Or maybe you should watch the show so that the pew pew kablam pow action scenes will draw in

While lack of income may make it easier for the bank manager to deny the loan, the legacy of the real world USA would suggest that we cannot ignore the dynamics race plays in the interaction (and I felt the subtext of the scene supported Germain’s interpretation).

Even if the banker himself is not explicitly denying

I completely disagree, but I’m a privileged white guy from Latveria, so what do I know

I love the third Back to the Future. Yes, tonally they shift. First kind of adventure comedy, third western comedy, then in between this bleak dystopian sci fi. But who would have the balls to make one of the most successful movies of the year, one which offers endless possibilities due to time travel, and then say,

Thanks for stopping by?

Me, two weeks ago: huh, I wonder how COVID impacted production

I mean, the handling of Ralph was bad, but at least he is gone

Okay yes, the Power of Love being what saved Central City’s life was goofy as all fuck(a mysterious thing y’know). But, I contend, it’s the kind of goofy nonsense that I want from my comic book media.

Age of Ultron really isn’t that bad - flawed, yes, but not bad - and the blame for its flaws is not entirely Whedon’s fault - there is a reason Feigue moved to get rid of Perlmutter and the story comittee after AoU.

Clicking an commenting on the story is an odd way to communicate that. You’re clearly engaged with the content, why would they stop making it?

I don’t like the whole “why don’t you try being a writer then” argument, but I keep seeing this criticism, and I don’t know what else people expect from their superhero stories. How else are you going to show people wielding magic against each other than with CGI blasts? It’s like complaining that westerns solve too
