I probably won’t read them TBH, but I absolutely believe you. It’s pretty obvious that there’s a good story hiding in there.

“Fascist regime arises from an aging democracy wrapped up in its own complacency” is a great story hook, if done competently.
The only applicable lesson is, “the Jedi kind of sucked,” and it seems like they learned that just fine!

I think a lot of those ideas are fine, but (unsurprisingly) incredibly undercooked.
The pod race was pretty cool.
That’s fair - like I said, I haven’t seen the prequels in ages. I also have no doubt that her stiffness is deliberate, at least when she’s acting in her capacity as Queen/Senator.
What is there in the prequels that could possibly have any relevance to the new movies? They themselves only existed to serve the original trilogy.
