Maybe? None of us really figured out her motives. But she was supportive with the boys (and one girl who was invited to play DnD with the boys) in a way she never was with me, and other girls who tended to disagree with her. It was not proportional to our test scores, or how hard we worked.

I was a very high-performing female student too. Teachers were relentlessly cruel to me. The male teachers were pretty bad, but the absolute worst were female teachers, disappointingly. Thanks :) I’m better now, but I went through some serious self-hatred, destructive behavior, and drug abuse before I got better. Now I try to help other women avoid predatory people, or heal from those kinds of experiences without harming themselves when I can.
