I don’t know, outside of missing the shot at the beginning and being wrong about some of the estimates that he made (how long it would take someone to die and something else) he pretty effortlessly dispatches several people and only has one real fight on his hands. It was an odd movie.

Biden’s approval numbers make a complete lie out of the idea that policy or accomplishment matters or that if we just “deliver for the American people” we’ll be successful.

She never caught fire in the primary and dropped out rather than lose. I don’t think she is the most skilled politician but the big reason that she isn’t very popular is that she’s a black woman and the media has been trashing her left and right. Sanders was the early prohibitive favorite in 2020 and had the money,

The left is not “creeping closer to the right in the name of bipartisanship). The two parties a now further apart than any major parties have been since the civil war. The two parties have virtually no policy goals in common at this point.

Here’s the thing, Biden is the strongest Democrat in the party. He actually fucking beat Trump once already. He made mincemeat of the rest of the candidates in the primary last time. Then, if he didn’t run, his VP would be the most likely choice - and Trump would most likely beat her. If she ran and didn’t win, or was

It was classic “both sides” bullshit. The whole point of it was that the Republicans and Democrats were both dominated by extremists and we all needed to be governed in the middle somewhere. Yes, Republican extremists thought that abortion should be illegal, rich people shouldn’t pay taxes, everyone should have guns,

“Indecision 2024: Antiques Roadshow” is not an A + joke. We’re staring down the barrel of a country controlled by Trump, Johnson, Roberts, and whatever worse monster replaces McConnell when he departs, and just about the only thing the entire media can say about it is “boy, Biden sure is old.” Never mind the fact that

Stewart, the architect of that stupid “rally to restore sanity” isn’t exactly the most incisive analyst out there. I would expect a lot of jokes about Biden’s age and pulling at his collar while mugging at the camera for the next 9 months. The vast majority of our media, at almost all levels, is a catastrophe.

I know Scientology is evil and everything, and Cruise is theoretically basically second in command, but has the average person taken a look at the bulk of “real” religions out there? Scientology isn’t doing a fraction of the damage that most other religions have done and are doing. I mean, the catholic church alone...

My wife and I watch it. It can be kind of fun at times, but usually only because of two or three good dancers (one of whom is often arguably a ringer “I have never professionally danced, but I did tap, ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance 6 hours a day, 6 days a week from the ages of 4-15". The crappy dancers are

The rail workers got what they wanted and we didn’t get the kind of bad news and economic setback that could have cost Democrats the Senate and even worse results in the house. It worked out great.

I agree completely. I don’t know what I thought when I first saw this move as a kid, but if I was seeing it for the first time today, my immediate thought upon him showing up would be, “he did it”.

Not quite sure if you are serious there, but Driver has worked steadily in acting for the past 25 years, and no I don’t think it’s common knowledge that she is also a musician. I’d also say that about 99% of people know Deschanel as an actor before they know her as a singer.

Giving Pascal a nomination for that SNL episode is really weird. He was fine, but just fine. I thought Plaza’s work was way better. I don’t think I even saw any other episodes.

The majority of religious organizations are known for way shadier shit than anything we hear about scientology. The Catholic Church, the Mormons, Hasids, various Muslim groups, Evangelicals, etc. Those groups are full of/run by monsters.

I’ve just started listening to the Sunny podcast (so far, hilarious) and that’s exactly how he got his role in one episode. Michael Madsen had been hired and just didn’t show up at all - apparently because he had fled the country due to an alimony issue.

I’ve watched that episode a million times. I’m pretty sure his eyebrow was burned. He didn’t have a lazy eye.

I don’t think Michael Bay is actually pulling them off. I know some people praise the spectacle of his work but I watched the first 6 minutes of his recent Ryan Reynolds movie and bailed.

I don’t know, I haven’t watched much SNL recently but I thought that was all pretty funny. The skits weren’t flabby, the cast was jelling well, and when it comes to complaints of reading cue cards - there was wayyyy less of that this time than I see on average.
