Purse horses and house hippos for 2020!!
I’m a stay at home mom and I maintain my sanity by *not* cleaning/cooking every day. Every second day we eat leftovers. The toys and books and kid’s clothes stay strewn about the house until they get dealt with in one massive cleaning swoop.
I shouldn’t be surprised, by now it’s well known how much trump voters hate POC, but damn if I didn’t gasp at that awful comment.

I had to take multiple breaks while reading it because I thought my heart would stop.
So much this. I’ve been through a lot of therapy in order to deal with the abuse I lived through. Understanding what happened during and after the war to my family was a big part of the process.
That’s so tough. The war made my grandpa into a bad father; abusive, controlling, and an alcoholic. He tried to make up for it as a grandfather but the damage to my dad was already done. My dad became an abusive alcoholic too.
At my grandpa’s funeral in 2014 I did a little math and realized that he enlisted into the RAF at 16. SIXTEEN.
Me too!!! I’ve only got 2 but I make it through the days by numbing my emotions. Otherwise, I’d be screaming and crying too under the weight of my kids’ outbursts. They are really good kids too, in the grand scheme of behavior and development. But as an introvert the constant noise and touching makes me want to hide…
