I was disappointed no one in the show called Castle out on his cheesy —I'll err on the side of generosity and call them "over the top"— Star Trek captain impressions. I was waiting the whole time for one of the other detectives to just be like, "Really, Castle? That's your Kirk?" (oddly enough, I can hear that line in

She's been a geek for a while. There was the real-life superhero episode, plus she was a big fan of the Derek Storm novels (and grudgingly started to read the Nikki Heat ones...). Probably a long list that I'm missing.

That's what I was expecting when they first described the wound, but I don't think it would've fit the theme of the rest of the episode. I'm pretty sure the murderers have faked some elaborate kills in past episodes, but once it got going and the suspects were narrowed down to the Nebula-9 cast, faking a laser-wound

Hey! There was lettuce in that fist-sized burrito full of melted cheese that I ate for lunch!

He brings up a very good point, and he'd hardly be the first clown to run the U.S.A.

Couldn't agree more.

Is there really such a position as Vice Patrician? I haven't read nearly enough of the books where Vetinari and Ankh-Morpok politics feature prominently (though, if Pratchett retires before giving us another Moist Von Lipwig novel, I'm probably going to cry at least thrice as hard as I will for his death/retirement

Every time I saw one of Obama's "Forward" ads, I couldn't not think of this.

Nothing like a candidate with a three-point plan that begins with "1. Under no circumstances, injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm"...

What? SyFy airing a show in the BSG-verse in a downright silly and counter-intuitive fashion? Impossible...

I always wanted to see/create a world with lots of entities like Tom Bombadil. You always sorta get the impression that he's practically omnipotent in the Old Forest. Gandalf and Sauron and friends may be pretty spectacular magicians, but if Sauron tried to frak with the Old Forest, the bodies of a dozen legions of

Yeah, that's what I thought too...

"provided it's not just thrown in and hoped not be applied logic to (you hear me, Moffat?)"

Fair enough.

Wait. There's a ComiCon on Halloweekend? Not sure if redundant or efficient...

I'm still not sure about this. Aren't the GOP staunchly against the sort of biotech research that we would need to bring about an effective zombie virus? Or is it cool so long as it doesn't rely on embryonic stem cells?

But, I know of no zombie apocalypse scenario where the zombies make witty comments all the time (aside from certain L4D mods...), which would probably make taking out a Zombie-Wash far less painful than you might expect.

Yeah, but this is Victorian England. That tentacle monster is going to steal a peek at her otherwise chaste ankles*, that or steal a kiss without her father's permission...

Well, since no one else has said it yet...

I think I'll let Liz Lemon explain my response to this image...
