These are all fair points if we assume the driver was behaving rationally. And if we assume this a (I shudder to phrase it this way) stereotypical "legitimate rape." I read this as likely akin to a date rape. She was likely feeling terrified, trapped and upset...but compliant, out of fear of angering her captor to the

The same thing that happened to his promise to be waterboarded for charity because waterboarding totally isn't a big deal, you guys.

"He just punched him square in the face for no reason? I don't buy it. Something else must be going on here. I bet Ford cut him off on the way into the gas station. Something like that. We'll just have to wait for the video. And if there is no video, who are we to judge this man? He may have been in fear for his life.

"Well, as long as it's just FORMER players...but we're monitoring the situation closely."

There's also a new(?) Google Messenger app that I don't really understand.

Oh, I dunno. It would not surprise me in the slightest if this person had no idea what "Brazilian" means, except in the context of "scary brown illegals bringing measles from Mexico."

It's good to see CNN taking programming tips from my buddy's drunk childhood friend, who thought screaming, "Political correctness is bullshit! Watch! N*gger! F*ggot! See? They're not hurting anyone. They only hurt you IF YOU LET THEM HURT YOU" qualified as intelligent debate.

The real measure of bodycam efficacy isn't something you're ever going to get from any one individual case. So what if Taser marketed their bodycam as a way for officers to justify the use of deadly force? That makes perfect sense from a marketing POV, and they're a privately run company. It does not mean that

I like evolutionary psychology. It's incredibly interesting, from an anthropological point of view. I just don't like seeing it misused by people looking to justify their own current behavior or preferences, regardless of whether I agree with them, because that is absolutely not what it's for.

So...who's going to be the first to point out that evolutionary psychology is total bullshit, then disregard everything this person says after referencing Sex at Dawn?

Heh I'm not saying this ought to be adopted as a widespread rule for all doctorate holders.

Yeah, I know. That's why I said he's technically a doctor, and why he can get away with calling himself Dr. Phil on national television without hoards of people beating down his door to stop him.

I said this yesterday but was lost in the grays: HE IS NOT A LICENSED THERAPIST.

...does not address the fact that she's now parading him around on Dr. Phil.

Despite the fact that Phil is - as a PhD holder - technically a doctor, can we all agree to stop fucking referring to this piece of shit as Dr. Phil? I know, I know - Accuracy, and all that.

"Overthinking" is the simplified way to describe that sensation that I think most of us have experienced in one capacity or another where we know exactly what we need to do and just...can't, somehow. You see the result. You know it didn't go the way you wanted it to. But you just can't pinpoint why. I can imagine it

This is creepy as shit and I'm not defending it...

I already have a Chromecast, Fire TV Stick, and Xbox 360 attached to my receiver, plus the cable box. I've got one port left out of five and had intended to use it for a PS4. If I cut the cable box I'll free up more space, but this is still less than ideal.

Now I have to decide between buying Apple TV when I already own a Fire TV stick and a Chromecast, keeping the cable subscription I'd intended to cut once a la carte became more or less viable, or ditching HBO entirely.

Ditto. Gmail in general consistently scares the crap out of me when I'm forwarding or replying to people.
