I hope Mixed-Ish ends up on Freeform, Hulu, or even Netflix. We’ll see. It’s fun. It’s finally another 1980s nostalgia show that seems to work, after Everybody Hates Chris ended. The teen culture movies of the 80s nearly exclusively focused on white people. There was no BIPOC analog to The Breakfast Club, Ferris

The only one I watched was Mixed-ish, which is very good.

Smulders was great as Dex and the show kind of wasted/underplayed that in its first season and now it’s gone and can’t fix it. Extremely frustrating.

I really liked Stumptown. It was a mistake to cancel it so soon.

Long haired hippie mark-paul!

I thought Stumptown was actually headed for renewal, but COVID kinda torpedoed that.

I’m really surprised Mixed-ish is going away, but I suppose this season has attempted less meaningfulness than the first. The focus was also taken off of Rainbow, which doesn't seem right. I just assumed that was due to COVID. Use the kids less to keep them safe. But that's probably what hurt the show. My family still

Why is there so much snark from people about these shows?

Oh man, I loved Mixed-ish. It was a cute light-hearted version of Black-ish, and I liked it better too 😢

I thought it was supposed to be used to track Kara--wasn’t it “like a bloodhound” or something?

I was completely tricked by the first vision, to the point where I was genuinely irritated at the direction things were headed. The second time around I got it, but it was really well-done. The Alien 3 homage in Lena’s story was absolutely delightful, and overall I thought it was really well-done. Hopefully it can

Lena was more than just “final girl”, she was Ripley from Alien 3. That shot of her face turned towards the camera while the creature looms closer and closer is an iconic shot from that movie.

Yeah, she’s done a couple horror shows—Slasher, the Jonathan Rhys Meyers Dracula (bonus Arrowverse points for her character being in love with Helena Bertinelli on that one). She also got torn to bits by pterosaurs and eaten by a mosasaur in Jurassic World, which I consider horror in that it’s horrific that script

You know I was thinking that the “Kelpie” looked a bit like a Xenomorph, and then they did the Alien 3 shot.

Her delivery of “That’s my family” made me instantly tear up. These past few seasons have been building up the found family nature of the Super Friends, and it’s a lovely button to see Kara instinctively refer to the team as her family, rather than just her friends.

Cisco - “I’ll always be there to support you Barry.”

  • Barry’s not going to help the Speed Force anymore...so what if she brings in a ringer? What if she brings in someone else connected to the Speed Force? Someone willing to help her carry out her plan. Someone that would enjoy a speed boost. What if she brings in Zoom?

I binged this and can see where the review is coming from. It really seems to be an extended police metaphor. The “old” original superheroes do not believe in killing and the young whippersnappers think that is stupid. The bad guys try to kill them and their friends on the force (er, union) keep getting killed and

Meh, I really enjoyed it.

The origin story part more than the current events one, but yeah. It got me to bed at 2am after binging it all in one day, which very rarely happens.
