Although hope is still alive with 2 hours left to go in the series, I am very sad that it seems unlikely to see a return of Grant Ward/Brett Dalton in the finale. I know he got overplayed for many seasons/years, but there’s a reason for that - he’s fantastic! Would love to see one more “heroic” ride for Ward. Fingers

“Mack is one of the most intimidating characters ever on TV”

Jesus Christ. I really needed that light scene between Sousa and ‘Quake’ to bring me back after I died watching that heart-wrenching scene with Simmons and Fitz.

Daisy calling Jemma her sister made me want a one-off reunion special in a couple of years that cuts back and forth between Daisy’s hen night (organised by Jemma) and Sousa’s bachelor party (organized by Deke). Hilarity would most definitely ensue.

Sousa can have “man out of time”, Steve’s not using it anymore.

Yup, that's where I think they're going with the "blood work," too.

How does Agents of SHIELD have such a disproportionate amount of the best Marvel couples? My personal rankings

One moment in this episode that I loved: Daisy confounding expectations because while it is true that she would never abandon her sister, her true sister is Jemma Simmons

It has to be said that Mack assuming the dad role for Daisy (usually played by Coulson) and asking Sousa what his intentions were worked nicely especially since Mack is one of the most intimidating characters ever on TV

“What are your intentions?” Big bro Mack awesomely putting a gentleman from the ‘40s on the spot. Enver Gjokaj’s deer in the headlights look confirms his straight man chops. And I think the $20 Yo-Yo owes him is about the kiss, not just the fact that she has a thing for Sousa (there’s no way Yo-Yo would have taken

They tried to tell Nate but he was like “CHAOS” and didn’t care. He just wants the world to burn and Sibyl is delivering and that’s all that matters to him. I think he also assumes he’ll get a seat in this new world.

Fitz got some bad bloodwork results, I take it? Cancer? Who knows?

Seems like they could just explain to Nathaniel that all Sybil wants is Earth itself, and she’ll wipe out all humanity as soon as she gets it.

Diana the implant successfully stopped Malick &, just like Simmons warned him it would, suppressed the memory of Fitz until it disappeared completely, & now there are tears on my shirt.

A lot of it was bit rushed and over-stuffed...which I blame on it being such a short season...but it still kind of worked for me anyway. It wasn’t perfect, but pausing to have those quiet moments between characters like Coulson/May and Daisy/Mack was a great way of taking a deep breath before the dive.

In his time they only had Captain America and everyone thought that was fine

This was clearly a transition episode setting the stage for the finale. It doesn’t get the heroes anywhere it just positions them for the final confrontation. But the character bits were nice with Simmons and Deke and finally Fitz. Phil giving May his famous pep talk. Mack going all older brother on Sousa (everyone

I wasn’t sure if it felt rushed because it’s rushed or because I don’t want the show to end, especially when it’s been so consistently fun this year.

Sousa obviously never read comic books in his time if he thinks ‘Quake’ is hilarious.

Agent you killed the Triskelion!
