I’d say it was somewhat progressive in that their relationship just was from the moment the show started. The families were beyond the points of confusion or denial. Even if Jay liked to throw out the occasional zinger at Mitch and Cam, he treated everyone that way and obviously didn’t try to exclude them from any

I have noticed in the comments that some folks are saying that as the show went on this family became increasingly mean to each other but I would say that this was evident from the fist season. Jay and Phil’s combative relationship with each other, Claire calling Gloria a gold-digger (which was one of the better

It’s hard even to get through five or six without a lull in the middle years, and “Modern Family” can be commended for that. Those early years were good — and not just as a zeitgeisty thing with a best-by date; they’re quite rewatchable.

My ultra conservative parents love this show, and that to me is its whole legacy in a nutshell.

“Modern Family helped to usher in shows that simply surpassed its own stab at diversity and progressive values.”

So to put this in perspective I have watched new episodes of the Simpsons live for twenty years.

Criminal Minds and Hawaii Five-O had truly awful finales.  Arrow and Modern Family did well.  So 2 for 4 for series finales for me this year

I assume the plan is a world of brainwashed slaves. Their minds are trapped inside while their bodies do whatever Leviathan wants.

There’s been several shows that didn’t have a promo for next week. Grey’s Anatomy & Station 19 didn’t, and unlike say AEW Dynamite this stuff was already filmed so I don’t know why it wouldn’t air.

The network that shows Batwoman and Supergirl in Canada replaced next week’s previously listed episodes with a movie, so yeah.

I’m pretty sure that putting Dean Cain’s character at a refugee camp helping aliens is a troll for Deano and a good one at that. I am here for it.

Horribly the most moral and patriotic thing Dr Fauci can do is kiss Trump’s ass however he likes so he doesn’t get fired and replaced with a yes-man whose main concern is how to hide the mass graves. And he seems to know it.

Alex in the SuperAlex wig is a rare case in the ArrowVerse where I prefer the wig to her actual current hairstyle (it being asymmetrical bothers me)

CW abruptly took back episode descriptions for The Flash and Legends that were supposed to air next week and then announced them returning April 7 so I think it is safe to say that there won’t actually be new episodes for Supergirl and Batwoman next Sunday.

It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time before I realized this was a Kara free episode, but Chyler deserved it, and she did a great job with it, as did the rest of the DEO crew going full ham.

This is one episode where I’m totally on Alex’s side. Not that I think she was “right” to feel as she did about her dad, or “wrong” to either for that matter. The point is, she felt what she felt, and emotions simply are what they are. It was Kara and Kelly who were in the wrong for once: the correct response to Alex

According to Nicole (Not a Dixie Chick) Maines, all but a couple of scenes in the finale had been shot. There may be a way for them to finesse with existing footage.

All of the ABC shows I record that would normally feature “next week on...” also didn’t have teasers from their most recent episodes, but actual

First and foremost, F Dean MAGA Cain. Glad we never have to see his face ever again (though part of me wished they recast him with Gerard Christopher).

-Can we please have SuperAlex eating potstickers Kara-style? DAMMIT.

This was a fun change of pace. (And obviously they’ll have to figure out more ways to not have Supergirl in episodes whenever next season finally starts filming.) Chyler Leigh did an excellent job.
