The idea of Jacob* and Kate wanting to give up on Alice but repeatedly giving her another chance is absolutely psychologically realistic in terms of how people do deal with family members with, say, addiction problems.

Maybe they could do something similar with Alice that they did with Malcolm Merlyn. Go away for a season or so, then come back as a regular, and hang around as a kind of frenemy/necessary evil of the team.
As interesting as this is I think I would have preferred Alice to have been a Cult leader like in the comics, because at least then it would have justified Kate dealing with her constantly if she’s fighting a different Cult member each week. And on that note what happens with Alice once this season is over? Because if…
I loved Zen Wally and it seemed like when he was disassembling the helicopter mid-air (which was possibly the coolest thing a hero has done on this show), he was using Godspeed’s “being in multiple places at once” ability. Also, is Godspeed still kicking around out there? That seems like a pretty long loose thread…
Glad I’m not the only one pumping the brakes on the Thawne stuff. I suppose you could hand wave the Wells stuff as him having worn the face for so long (though I wouldn’t like that), but the extra murdery Thawne seems really out of character. Even the more aggressive Matt Letscher version wasn't this "I'LL KILL YOU!!"
I guess this episode kind of blew my whole “Mirror Iris is actually Iris just with different facets of her personality blown up and distorted” theory right up. Granted, it had been showing cracks (heh, mirror joke) before but there was still some chance that it wasn’t just straight up an evil doppelganger up until…
So is the blame to be placed on
Not looking forward to Jake having to tell Luke that his father’s murder is actually unsolved & likely related to Crow corruption, probably in league with some Batman villain who wanted to take out his main ally Lucius
Every Alice-Mary scene is a highlight since they are the show’s two best characters and I love how their antagonism has developed even as they get more casual with each other. I especially loved Alice twisting the knife that she knows Kate’s secret identity, though Mary does not realize that Alice (like her) figured…
OK, the final shot of Mouse getting forcibly overdosed on the fear toxin was striking. But a few things rang sour for me this week, too:
Why you gotta go and waste Duella Dent like that?
Otherwise a decent episode as uninvested as I am in Sophie and Kate though just get Mary knowing out in the open already.
I’ll give this show one thing, Kate and Sophie do actually have chemistry together. It’s just a shame that it’s been tarnished by all the shit that Sophie’s done.
Mary pretty much confirmed Kate is Batwoman, tries to tease it out of her, then essentially offers Kate the chance to bring her on it when she’s ready. Mary is just The Best.
I appreciate that J’Onn waited to gift Alex with a nifty alien super-weapon that can be any weapon she imagines until she was going through a personal crisis, since of course it cheered her right up. He is a good space-dad
I’ve always liked the fan theory that somehow the ASA and LuthorCorp have a partnership (now that LuthorCorp officially has government contracts). Not sure how you’d fit it into a story though.
Jon Cryer is such a good Lex, I momentarially forgot who he was during that scene with Lena. For a moment I got swept up in the feeling of a big brother trying to mentor his little sister and guide her away from making the same mistakes he made. Then I came to my senses and was shocked at how I found myself being…
Good things this week:
This is what I tell people who are worried about progressive Dems in the race.
Seems reasonable right? Try to make changes, put new ideas into the public consciousness, start actual conversations to combat fear mongering, and maybe change the narrative. The effort is the point.
If Bernie is the eventual nominee I will vote for him. I would vote for a ham sandwich if it ended up at the top of the ticket. After this shitshow of a primary ends vote for whoever comes out of Milwaukee. Anyone of them is better than Trump.
