Thank you! Kinda drives me nuts when I see comments (and Twitter is particularly bad about this) that don’t really seem to get who Lena is and what her issues are but inevitably claim the writers have somehow “betrayed” her. It’s never been that simple good/bad switch, poor lass has a *seriously* messed up frame of

deathly allergic to a phone screen’s light

I spent much of this episode hoping Kate would just tell Mary the truth already. And then Mary went and figured it out all on her own. Go Mary! (Now just don’t do a fakeout like you did with Sophie.)

To be fair, I think the issue here with Lena is that she has no idea how to forgive. Because she’s been wronged by a family that would never, ever seek her forgiveness. It’s not a scenario for which she has a frame of reference. That’s what struck me the most about the ending scene: Kara was absolutely right in saying

I love that so many people came back for this episode. I mean Chris Wood was easy and Jeremy Jordan was already doing couple other episodes but getting Odette Annable back in that suit and Chad Lowe and Sam Witwer to just drop by probably required some shuffle and then making sure people wouldn’t get spoiled too.

When the plastic surgeon was expressing disbelief as someone being able to wear a skin mask and accurately portray somebody else, I thought “But you live in Gotham! And on a planet where there are people with superpowers! How is this skin mask stuff so unbelievable?” but then of course it turned out to be EVIL DOCTOR

(Also that the latter even knew there was an alternate Beth and that she needed to die for Alice to live, I guess?)

Ha! They went all the way to Paris to make a C+ episode!

I think it’s more like old fodder for Rebecca Silver novels. Seemed like Mick had been carrying that around for a while.

Everything about Ava and her podcast was fantastic, but I completely lost it at the promo code.

I some how thought the Flash this week was so great that there was no way Legends would be better. I was a fucking fool, A fool I tells ya!

- Mick getting some (and possibly fathering a kid??)
- Nora’s blue clothes!
- Ava’s podcast! (Gideon, use promo code laceration for that mattress)
- Pansexual Charlie!
- Constantine walking alone, with Gary (Gary walking backwards!)
- Zari using time-change related street smarts!
- Ray taking his two loves to prom!
- Tara

I can’t be the only who really likes that the show is acting as if Behrad has been there the whole time and just expecting everyone to go along with it.

It’s not quite at the same level, but Fringe used to do a lot of that “Keep up!” style storytelling in its middle seasons. Basically, this is how it is, we’re not

-I liked this magic cassette deck scene a lot better than the ones Stumptown’s been doing.

The story was predictable in the paths it took but that’s ok when it is an intentional pastiche and very solidly done. Though this isn’t the episode they write Norah out it definitely felt like it might have been the goodbye gift to Ford and she hit it out of the park.

A couple of things:

To steal a line from Marc Evan Jackson on The Good Place, The Podcast(he played Shawn) Legends is an unusual hour of American Network Television.

Biggest laugh in the episode for me: Mick going with the alias “Dick,” and Sara immediately telling “Dick” about the importance of team meetings (which he has been blowing off all season)

Well this was up much faster than I expected. I’m glad though, this was a great episode! Pretty good moving through two of the three time periods (the 2020 didn’t show up much but that was fine) and a lot of great character beats. I’m glad Mick got something to do, even if part of that was being dead for a few
