I donated to planned parenthood and then got a lecture from a family member about dead babies. So I donated again, double my original amount, in said family member’s name.

Jessica Simpson and Ivanka Trump both rip off other designers, but only Ivanka is in the position to make sure copyright is always legally interpreted as “Copy, right?”

I totally agree. This sets a bad precedent. We lost and must learn from the mistakes we made this time around.

This is a huge thing on the internet right now but it’s such a bad idea. The Electoral College making Clinton president will surely cause a HUGE upheaval. We’re seeing the protests now but the protests from the right would be insane.

Well, I would never call for you to be fired, that’s way over the top in my book... I’m just saying even as a moderate (raised by hard-line Liberal feminists,) that I would be disturbed by anyone teaching a subjective political opinion as a fact, especially in a case like this where you have a pretty good idea that

Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think personal politics is even a factor here frankly... I’m pretty much a moderate and I would still be incredibly disturbed if my son’s teachers were not only taking a hard stance (either way), but telling him that anyone who doesn’t agree is ignorant or intolerant.

I’m not paying to

You’re letter shouldn’t have targeted Trump supporters. It was inappropriate to try to change the minds of part of the class to your view. If you think challenging minds means asking leading questions to get your class to your way of thinking, then that’s a problem. Let kids develop their views on their own.

Thanks, I’m glad someone called out this loon.

“It was a referendum on whether or not they count as people. That shouldn’t be something we get to vote on. But we did. And when we did, we told a lot of our fellow humans that they aren’t people—not really, not in the way that “we” are.”

Yeah that for one. I don’t like the mindset that purports to love democracy then merely dismisses other people’s viewpoints as being the views of some horrible monster, especially if we are going to take talk of institutional racism seriously. Its not the job of minorities to reach these people, and I’ve grown tired

Open their minds, challenge their thoughts, sure. Teach them that they (and their parents) are wrong and small-minded to disagree with you on a subjective topic? That’s something entirely different...

You are making a sweeping generalization about millions of people based on nothing more than a personal bias. That’s

As teacher, an influential shaper of young minds, why would you forecast such bleak things..

Why on Earth would you say such things? We have no idea what will be in the ACA fix, and so on and so on.

I’m totally with you on the whole listening angle of your plea, and most of what you wrote in that section was fair and positive, regardless of politics.

That said, if you don’t see how insanely peppered this is with not only your own personal bias/beliefs, but gross misinterpretations and generalizations about

“If Trump is elected, will I be a slave?”

“the people who elected Mr. Trump did so because they are angry, because they are scared, because they feel left out.”

I’m a liberal, but it’s very unprofessional for you to push your beliefs in their faces. Would you feel comfortable if another teacher at your school started trying to convert students to his or her religion?

The democrats chose the antithesis of a populist candidate in an election where populism was the dominant theme on both sides of the aisle. What did they think would happen? And while misogynistic undertones (and in some cases overtones) certainly define portions of her opposition, it’s simplistic to view her loss

Thank you. I was starting to wonder if we had all read the same article...
