Oops. Replied to the wrong person.

There’s a lot of things I like about the Pixel 2 XL, but after spending prolonged time with the Galaxy S9+, I’m really struggling to find any major reasons to go back to it.

I’ve never had a dog before, and I know you can get wonderful mutt pups, but I’m terrified of having a dog that is too much for me to train.

It’s really amazing how much people discount the importance of socialization and training that takes place when puppies are still at home with their breeders (given that the breeder is one who is ethical, that is). All those behavioral problems have that many people assume is just part of dog ownership? A

I mean, I can’t say I disagree. I’ve known the breeder of my dogs for nearly twenty years now. I know I can go to her for anything when it comes to my current dog. She will not hesitate to help take care of one of her dogs.

If they are ethical

But I don’t consider all unsolicited input to be the same. As I pointed out to someone else, some decisions are more personal to those making them than others, especially when that decision involves adding living beings to the family rather than inanimate objects. I didn’t say they’re the same decision. I’m saying those are both personal decisions. Not everyone is going to choose to have a child. For some, getting a pet will be one of the most—for some, maybe THE most—personal decision someone will make for their family.

Of course not. But not all issues are as personal as choosing to add a pet to your family—and even that issue is one that some people take more personally than others. And it’s easy to see that choice is one that people take VERY personally and seriously given the kind of arguments people have about it.

People need to know what to ask and how to spot reputable breeders, absolutely.

Uh-huh.

Duly noted. Thank you very much for the correction.

I love my pure bred dog and I didn’t appreciate the lecture I got from my friend.

Um, I never gave you advice. I questioned what you were doing.

Just because this person is one of your “best friends” does not mean that what you are doing is not an asshole thing to do and does not mean that he or she will appreciate it the way you want them to. In fact, being “best friends” often makes people blind to those kinds of things.

Unless this person has asked explicitly for your advice, then yes, it is horrible that you have decided to make their business your own business—unless you are going to be providing objective, unbiased advice (which is doubtful).

Oh. You’re one of those “friends”.

Yeah, it sounds like you’re shooting yourself in the foot if you’re paying Amazon for Prime but not taking full advantage of what they’re offering.

But the stock option IS fine. It’s basically identical to the Google keyboard. What’s in that picture ISN’T the stock option.

1. No. What I said is that if someone has to install something because the stock option is so terrible, then that is a failure. That is not “nearly flawless” software design. There is a difference between being fine with the stock option but wanting something different and thinking the stock option is terrible and
