I wasn't even aware Going Postal had been made into a series. I shall take your warning and not watch it. I never tried watching Soul Music. I wasn't a fan of the book. It's probably my least favorite of all the Discworld novels. I barely watched Wyrd Sisters. The animation is just awful, and it starts out with them

I enjoyed the Hogfather, but it was completely different than how I thought it would be. The animated version of Wyrd Sisters was awful. The Colour of Magic wasn't horrible, but they condensed two books into one mini-series, and that's just not doing it justice.

I thought the news story about this today was that the governor was having the "forcible rape" part removed from the policy. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/20/susana-martinez-forcible-rape-new-mexico_n_1901130.html

I think not only could it be pared down enough it would probably improve the story. I love big books, and I enjoy a good fantasy series, but at some point you've got to get on with the main story. Jordon had issues with that.

And I absolutely cannot wait for it. I really really really really really hope it turns out to be good.

The worst episode since Futurama came back was the one where the two genders got switched. Awful. As for the rest of the seasons... it's not been unlike Futurama. Not every episode back in the original series was as amazing as people seem to want to remember them as. Some of them were absolute gems, but that's us

Touché. As always, I underestimate the internet.

And if you can't be bothered to even read this article as well then here's an explanation of the Ig Noble Prize from the lovely chaps of QI. Guest starring a genuine award recipient.

Someone already got the South Park reference so I decided to go with a Red Dwarf video. Meet Archie...

So I take it I'm the only person that liked Tom Bombadil. I feel rather despondant to the world this morning.

How could someone not like Tom Bombadil?

Oh sure, give Radagast more airtime. Actually, I am okay with it, but what I'm not okay with is that Tom Bombadil got no mention in the LOTR trilogy. They need to find a way to fit him into the Hobbit "trilogy." It's not like they don't have the film space to fit him in since they're stretching things out so much.

Only thing I remember from Fastland is a particular hot tub scene I'm afraid.

Same. I was thinking Cussler but couldn't remember the name. Well done Lemony.

I'm guessing it'd be too much to hope for that they'd flood the market and lower the pricing on diamonds to a fraction of their price so they could be more readily used for science and industry. Alas, they're probably just going to horde it all while reminding the various diamond groups that they could destroy the

I quite enjoyed Death of the Doctor from SJA. SJ, Jo Grant, Matt Smith, giant buzzards? The show was quite good. A children's show, sure... but it was still quality tv.

The bad guys want to turn the power back and and the good guys don't? Easy enough... destroy the dongle. There... problem solved.

I can't believe I never realized he was both characters. He was excellent in The West Wing. Feels like almost the same exact character really.

The Giver was one of the few books that stuck with me from my school days. Terribly depressing book. I don't look forward to the movie if only because I expect they will change the ending to make it less ambiguous and cheerful.

The Rapture should have been included. It's failed to appear many times since the first predicted event in 1844.
