This looks amazing. Everyone, download it soon if you want it, Nintendo’s going to be all over it.

That is terrifying.

NG1 is my favorite game of all time, and I never beat it as a kid. After a week long dedicated effort 10 years later when I was in college, I finally conquered Jacquio.

Yeah, I really hope it all works out. It’s a cool idea in theory.

Right, I agree as someone who plays a lot of games. I’m more talking about accessibility - My non-gamer mom doesn’t want to hop on and get crushed in Rocket League or Smash Bros, as those games have huge learning curves. Everyone can pick up and play Mario Kart though. It has simple, intuitive controls, and things

Right.

I’d hesitate to say “permanent”. If e-sports ever break into the mainstream, they’ll have to strengthen the teams’ connection to the city they play for. Having everyone play in California is pretty crappy for that.

Yeah, the key here is if they really want to create that team-city connection, then those facilities should be located in the city where they are representing. This makes sense for everyone, even the players, since they presumably will be living in the city where they work and represent. This isn’t baseball where lots

If e-sports ever grow up to be like real sports, they’ll have dedicated playing arenas and training/practice facilities, and make all players on a team live in the city they are representing. Players will travel to opposing arenas to compete, so all of the home town fans can go put their butts in seats and show their

it seems safe to assume that all this will happen at least one more time down the road, presumably with a game that will be called Destiny 3. (Kotaku news editor Jason Schreier tells me he hears that Destiny 3 is indeed already in development, as expected.)

Funny enough, that was the other game in rotation. I think it depends on the group though. Jackbox can be a little awkward sometimes at a family gathering, depending on what your family dynamic is.

Mario Kart is hard to beat. I took my Switch with me when I went to spend the holidays with my family, thinking I’d show a few people the cool new system, play a couple of hours of Odyssey when I could sneak them in and that would be it.

Unfortunately, these changes are probably things that should have been available at launch. I get the feeling the game is a shadow of what it could have been, playerbase-wise, if they had fleshed out everything before they shoved the game out the door. It’s not like they were lacking examples on what to do/not do.

There may be a lot of disagreement about the order of this list, but there’s one thing we can all agree on: Your #1 pick is right on the money.

This is so satisfying.

Better than it had any damn business being? Ex-cuuuuuuse me?

The game’s rarest existing cosmetics go for thousands of dollars on the Steam marketplace.

Yeah, always end up with a few weird quirks you get used to after a while. Like, whenever I reboot my current build, it will shut down, then start up and spin for a few seconds, shut down again, then start up again, for real this time. I just kind of accept it at this point.

I still actually prefer the xbox 360 controller to the xbox one controller. I’m not sure why they shrunk the diameter of the tops of the thumsticks so much on the xbox one controller, but they feel tiny.

That paper clip test is a lifesaver. And also terrifying if you aren’t sure what you are doing.
