They are very similar cycles of grief.

Having a hard time parsing this. Are you saying he lost out by going cheap on the PSU? Are you saying it’s better to buy parts in B&M stores? Are you saying buying parts to build your computer isn’t worth the trouble, and you should buy pre-built machines?

Man, I’ve had a DOA motherboard before, and these issues are a nightmare to diagnose. You go through the laundry list of 10,000 things you could have plugged in/seated/mounted incorrectly, check things two or three times over, ask yourself if you’re going crazy, and at the end of it, need someone else’s parts to

I’ve built 4 PCs in my lifetime, and his cable management looks better than any of them, on his first try.

If I’m recalling correctly, it was in all-chat mode yesterday morning, then I tuned back in to see the Skyrim speedrunner use God Mode console cheats to get past a part they were stuck at. Chat rioted (rightfully), and it’s been in sub mode since.

“The official phrase approved by dictionaries is all of a sudden.”

I mean, your snarky comments aside, I do wish eSports would ditch the cheesy, crappy callsigns. Just call them by their names.

Healthy? Probably not. Profitable? Hell yeah.

Like a fine wine.

Off topic: It’s “all of a sudden”, not “all of the sudden”, my dude.

Oh, yeah. Still, low emotional investment was why I watched a play through. Like I said, I’m a wimp when it comes to horror games.

I also had read about it a few times beforehand. I’m pretty easily disturbed so I watched a let’s play of it on youtube rather than buy it myself, but it was still quite a shock to the system.

I played some Rocket League, which is pretty fast paced, and I noticed a tiny bit of latency on wired. It was very minor though, definitely playable.

Yeah, it’s probably fine for RPGs. I just wouldn’t recommend trying Rocket League on it. Learned that the hard way.

And then installing Windows.

I expect that I’ll be doing most of my PC gaming on my television, so I didn’t want to drop $750 on a fancy monitor that I might not use.

Agreed on #2. So many people overdo it on the CPU heat sink. I usually just buy a decent budget-to-midrange fan cooler, run Prime95 for a few minutes and make sure the temps don’t shoot through the roof, and call it a build.

I got the XB1 version last week as well and played it with some relatives. While it was a good time overall, the terrible servers did put a damper on things. Like you said, tons of rubberbanding and dropped connections, along with the controls feeling ho-hum on a controller.

Marty is a god damn genius when it comes to video game compositions.

As someone embedded in the Xbox ecosystem, don’t switch. The exclusives for the PS4 have been miles beyond the Xbox this generation. Really sucks, because I like the Xbox controller so much more than the PS4 controller.
