I enjoyed doing all of the quests when it first came out, levelled to 50 and got my money’s worth, did a bit of endgame and quit. I thought it was money well spent. And now that it’s F2P, seems like a deal to me.

It’s not DRM, it’s still an MMO. You have the option of engaging with other players in a persistent online world. I just always thought this game was unique in that you can play it almost completely solo, with solo quests complete with written dialogue and choices.
Well done!
Nope, didn’t get it. Your snark was lost on me.
I dig the choreography, but man she needs to do some arm stretches or something. So stiff!
Fair enough. I thought it struck a pretty nice balance, myself.
I didn’t say that it was as satisfying as KOTOR, as KOTOR 1 and 2 were some of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had, but I thought the prior SWTOR was satisfying in and of itself.
Satisfied in that I played it shortly after launch, levelled to 50 by questing, and found the story and quests fun (for the most part) with minimal socializing with other players.
Fair enough. Putting up with a couple of random strangers was a small price to pay to see the additional content for me, but YMMV.
I played a while back, and while the heroics/flashpoints were fun, I don’t recall them being exceptionally critical to the progression of the story. It’s content you skipped, sure, but I think it was all fairly skippable. From this update, though, it sounds like they’ve made it even more solo friendly.
That’s a fair concern.
Spoken like someone who’s never played it before. You can play the vast majority of the quests in game by yourself, treating it like a single-player KOTOR experience, and come away satisfied.
Sony’s proprietary memory formats is a pain in the ass but they have no choice to avoid piracy
Eh, I think he did learn the lesson, hence why he corrected himself.
Did you not read his follow up comment before posting this, wherein he backpedaled his initial comment and corrected himself?
We’ll have to agree to disagree then.
Or that. I just figured re-arranging them in a way that made sense would be easier than turning a static UI into a filterable, dynamic UI.
It is, but it’s split down the middle, and the sorting continues across the break. So, you don’t really have a good way of knowing if the hero you’re looking for is on the left or right side of the screen, which still results in a lot of unnecessary scanning. I think it would be better if they alphabetized the entire…
Otherwise magic would have been the way to go since that is actually a physical card game and a better game than hearthstone.
Well in that case, why all the outrage? Cosmetic DLC never really bothered me at all.
