God, right? It almost felt like - if I recall the atmosphere correctly - there was this sense of inadequacy because they weren't attacked. Almost like "What do you mean, we're not important enough to bomb?" I lost a whole lot of respect for people in the aftermath.
I actually just subscribed to Esquire last night because they employ Charles P. Pierce (and because it was nine bucks for a year.) I've lost patience with Slate, but Mother Jones and The Nation are both very worthy candidates.
