He specifically says he's letting his XDA friends download it for free as a show of good faith, but would ultimately like people to support him by buying the GPS version. It's only $0.99, after all.

You're right when you say that trying to help another player in a gun fight, Or trying to save them from police, or even just trying to give them a ride results in them just shooting you. Probably because the game is full of 10 year olds who can't tell the difference from partnership to shooting someone in the face.
