I AM friends with a good number of my coworkers - and there is not a single one of them I don’t at least like in the whole company. Just one of many, many reasons I truly love my job.

I have another job. This covers a multitude of requests/offers.

As much as I cringe at these, we always make a Jell-o mold every Thanksgiving. Macerated strawberries, walnuts and bananas are mixed into strawberry Jell-o which is then layered with sour cream. It sounds awful but it’s delicious and I hate sour cream.

Or you could just have a butter dish on your counter like a sane person.

i store my whipped butter at room temp in a covered glass dish in my microwave when i got tired of ripping things trying to spread it on.  works fine.  also, if you grate butter, you will end up with a big mess.

years ago, when my son was maybe 5 or 6, we asked him to just hold the butter to help soften it. When we needed it, he didn’t have it in his hands so we asked him where the butter was. He said, “oh, in my pocket”. Became our go-to way of softening butter until he grew tired of us using his pockets :-)
