I think what’s making the big difference is cost. It used to be that not seeing a movie in theaters meant you had to wait six months to a year for a home video release, and the rental would cost around the same amount as a theater ticket (or if you bought it, more than twice as much.)

That’s a really silly attempt at a correlation. Just because people might have other shit going on in their lives and can’t drop everything to go spend $25 on a movie (that will be on a $14 a month streaming service next month) doesn’t mean they want the movie spoiled for them.

There’s a part in the movie where he goes to see a doctor and the doc is most concerned about the state of his liver. Most of the visit is edited to just talk about his weight gain but there’s a part where the doctor tells Spurlock “your liver is basically pâté.”
