I’m sure it’s all part of his heroic plan to save free speech or some bullshit.

It’s really a shame how TV recaps/reviews have all but vanished from the AV Club. Some of the better ones made for reading that was almost as entertaining as the shows themselves.

I can’t wait until Netflix releases their next Chapelle “special” and it’s just smartphone footage of his speech to his local homeowners’ board. You know, the one where he threatened to move away if they built affordable housing for the poor.

“You are no different than the conservatives who had the likes of George Carlin put in jail”

Yeah, that sounds like marketing talk to me. They already made this once, they are making it again. It’s a remake.

Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, bartender Sam Malone stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator, and vanished!

Sometimes you wanna go, WHERE EVERYBODY KNOWS YOUR CRIMES

I was speaking in general terms about Netflix’s various remakes, not about this show specifically. All their remakes so far are based on franchises which had anime airing on Netflix, so it’s fair to assume that’s the version they’re basing it on (also some, like Bebop, were anime before they were manga.)

Indy: It belongs in a museum!

It is impossible for Crystal Skull to retroactively ruin the first three films. Not a single frame of them has been changed (and Lucas no longer has the rights of them so he can’t get any ideas.)

Oh boy, I can’t wait for Indy to go after the Super-Ark of the Ultra-Covenant (it’s like the original ark but much bigger, which makes it more interesting!)

I feel liberated, thank you.

Why is Netflix so obsessed with live-action anime remakes? Guys, here’s an interesting idea: if a story would have worked better in live-action, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIVE ACTION IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Two reminders for all the people jumping on the “just vote” criticism bandwagon:

Kilgrave is arguably the MCU’s best villain (he’s sure as hell more interesting than Thanos anyway) and you just dump him in the mid-70's? It’s no wonder why people keep clinging to the “MCU has no good villains” myth when all the good ones get overlooked like this.

Also amusing: The title of Jessica’s original comic book series was Alias, after the name of her investigation company. So the show’s title in early production was Alias Jessica Jones, but it was decided people would confuse it with the JJ Abrams series Alias, requiring a change to AKA, before they dropped the prefix f

This is probably what happened. It’s not that unusual for shows to undergo name changes after their pilot episodes, which means the studio has to go back and change the intro sequence for the pilot to reflect the new title. But Disney loves to archive everything it makes, even if the differences between versions are

Both Star and Amphibia lasted exactly as long as their creators intended, as confirmed by the respective creators themselves on social media. Any issues you have with those finales are down to the writing quality (personally I thought Amphibia’s ending was nearly perfect, whereas Star had one of the worst TV finales

Have you guys noticed how the cast of Spongebob maps perfectly to the cast of Riverdale? Think about it.

Yeah, nerd, because people who have lots of sex always feel the need to brag to strangers on the internet about how much sex they’re having.
