Holy shit, it’s Disney CEO Bob Chapek!

Because movies are intended for a paying audience, which means movies are more successful if there’s a public desire to see their premise on film. And if there doesn’t seem to be one, then people say “who asked for this?”

This has been “Common Sayings Explained,” because apparently we need to do that now.

If it’s just a story about a spaceman then maybe they don’t need to attach an already exhaustively overdone franchise to it? I mean, your argument does a pretty good job of underscoring how cynical it feels to make this a Toy Story spinoff instead of its own thing.

I think because Buzz Lightyear of Star Command didn’t take itself quite so seriously? Also every episode began with the toys turning on the TV to watch the cartoon so you knew exactly what context this existed in.

Wow, Buzz Lightyear’s face looks so fucking weird. They made everything else all realistic and added a layer of grime to it (which I think was a smart choice) but his face looks so simple contrasted to everything else. I get that they’re stuck with a 25 year old character design intended to look really simple because

Ah yes, Buzz Lightyear, a character who is famously never associated with Toy Story.

All those things were also true fifteen years ago when Nintendo put Ocarina of Time on the Wii, with far fewer lag and performance issues than it’s experiencing on the vastly superior Switch hardware. This just reeks of a phoned-in, half-assed job.

The fact is, the most functional and convenient way to play these classic N64 games right now (unless you have a physical N64 that still works) is to “pirate” them, and that is 100% Nintendo’s fault. They have the time and the resources to deliver a better product than any homebrew emulator could ever hope to, but

The sad reddit nerds whose lives revolve around hating Kotaku are out in force today, I see. And their arguments are even more ridiculous than usual.

How the hell are these huge billion dollar companies so much worse at emulation than a bunch of amateurs who do this as a hobby?

A lot of “comedy” fans just want to see a famous person on stage. What they actually say is immaterial. “I saw Larry the Cable Guy LIVE last night! It was totally worth the $70 ticket to be close to Guy I Know From TV! His act? Oh, he just read from the phone book for two hours. Standing ovation at the end.

Sure, but if you’re going to make something that’s nothing like the books, why make an adaption at all? I mean, I would understand if this were a big popular franchise, but Foundation...isn’t that. The name doesn’t carry weight except among fans of old school hard scifi, and those people aren’t going to be impressed

Animal Crossing Maoist Village DLC.

The person who organized the walkout was fired earlier this week. She’s planning to take them to court over it.

*puts on Sherlock Holmes hat* An intriguing question. Everyone in town has a motive. It’s a real Who-Shot-Mr-Burns sort of situation.

Therefore, we must conclude that the baby did it. And who most resembles a baby in Animal Crossing? The player character. Confess, you murderer.

Always a good sign when the pitch for your spinoff is, “don’t worry, folks, it’s completely different from the original show, we promise!”

The first thing someone says to Nathan Drake in this trailer is “Hey kid, aren’t you a little young?”

Self-awareness award 2021.

Hey, here’s a fun fact: Metroid Dread has been out for less than two weeks and it’s already become by far the best selling game in the franchise. Which is strange, because a bunch of weird nerds on here kept assuring me that its sales had been fatally crippled thanks to one Kotaku article.

Yeah, nothing says “I’m not a sheep!” like making excuses for a multi-national corporation and a millionaire celebrity. Oh man, you’re so edgy and cool.

Remember: THESE PEOPLE AREN’T DEMANDING THAT THE SPECIAL BE REMOVED. They’re demanding that Netflix stop firing people for speaking their minds, and demanding that the company invest in uplifting trans voices (instead of just dumping $25 million on some has-been comedian who thinks “LOL I joined a hategroup” is a
