Whether it was planned or not (clearly not), they did the right thing in squeezing out Perez instead of Verstappen. Max’ pace was too much for the Mercs today, they did themselves a favor by not allowing Perez to go past in T1 as well or it may have very well ended up a P1/P2 for Red Bull.
