Maybe, but it could also just be plain laziness. He clearly didn’t take the 15 minutes it would’ve taken to read through the entire FIA document, instead just skipping to the last page which summarizes the sentencing.

It’s his first offence. Actually, it’s his first, second and third offence, since the 15 year ban is an accumulation of all incidents after the crash. The FIA used precedents to determine a punishment for each offence.

The crash wasn’t caught on camera, but was bad enough for Ippolito to be DQ’d after the race.

Paolo Ippolito is not 13 years old. He’s in his mid-20s.

According to the FIA ruling, the other competitors were around 100kph at that section of the track. The fairing weighs at least 1.35 kgs (3 lbs).

Not only that, he actually unclamped the bumper and took it off his kart just to have something to throw at the guy. The bumper didn’t come off during his crash.

Maybe NOT throwing stuff at other drivers is also an option. Even in NASCAR.

Now playing

He threw the bumper at his intended target on track at full speed. He missed, and the bumper was hit by a different driver.

The rocker shift pedal is my favorite feature of this wheel. It actually means you can shift up with either hand, which can be useful in longer races. You can rest one of your hands, or have a drink whenever you want.

Again: thanks DRS, for ruining a whole generation of fans who now think it’s bad manners to defend your position.

Toto is doing Bottas no favors by his generally agitated responses to anyone who refers to Bottas as a number two driver. It just creates extra pressure on Valtteri which he’s proven, for 4+ years now, to be unequipped to deal with. I truly think Bottas would be more comfortable if Toto were just honest and say

Crashing behind the safety-car while in a rare points position at last year’s Imola race wasn’t particularly smart.

The fact that Perez didn’t manage to qualify in the top 10 eliminated him from having any sort of effect on the lead battle. So Mercedes could again split strategies against Verstappen, as they’ve been doing for a few years now.

This is how you can see that Toto was legitimately pissed after the race. A calm Toto Wolff would never have been dumb enough to insinuate that a Williams driver should actively the Mercedes works team.

He didn’t cost them points. If anything, Mercedes is still leading both championships because of Russell.

Thanks for letting us all know that anytime anyone says anything that’s even remotely critical of Lewis, it’s because we are all racist. Understood. He’s the best of all-time.

Checo’s driving with the big boys now. He should get used to the pressure that comes with that. Hamilton, Verstappen and Leclerc did.

Max set his Q2 time in Bahrain on a single lap early on in the session when the track was still green. And Gasly made it through easily on the mediums. Sure, Perez had a tremendous comeback from the back of the grid, but that’s not the role they signed him for.

Yep, you’re right!

It’s very early, but Checo has been a disaster so far. Missed Q3 in Bahrain, and two major fuck-ups in Imola which has left Mercedes leading both championships. But I’m sure media and fans alike will find a way to blame Red Bull management.
