Hamilton was never a lap down. He would’ve been if not for the red flag of course, but them’s the rules. He got lucky.

Formula E is significantly slower than F3. F2 did qualy times of around 1.20 around Monaco last time they went, expect FE to above the 1.40 mark. F3 would slot in somewhere in between.

A bad day for math, this.

Force majeure likely wouldn’t apply, as there’s no immediate issue that would neccesitate the cancellation of the event.

“I’m a stickler for things doing what they say on the tin.”

Unfortunately we have 4 years worth of proof that Bottas can’t handle Hamilton over a full season. The funny part is we keep hearing about this Bottas 2.0 nonsense, yet his first season at Mercedes was, by quite some margin, his best. So imagining him ‘getting it’ at age 31 in his 5th year at Mercedes seems like a

Bottas was 30 seconds ahead of the top McLaren in Bahrain before pitting to go for the fastest lap. He’s a lock for a top 4 spot.

“Surprised Qatar hasn’t got an F1 race yet. You know it’s coming.”

“I have maintained for several years now that IndyCar is some of the best open-wheel racing you can watch”

Doesn’t seem really fair to look at absolute numbers while disregarding all the variables at play. For instance, there’s way more Grand Prix’ right now. Careers are longer. And also, did you know Lewis, who’s entered his 15th season now, has had 11 mechanical DNF’s in his career? His last one was almost three years

“What if Valtteri Bottas wins the title? What if Sergio Perez does?”

Bottas is likely out after the season. Mercedes has to act, they’ve had issues recruiting for their young driver program, which is quite barren right now. Certainly when compared to Red Bull, Ferrari and Renault/Alpine. That can’t be seen separately from their extremely cautious approach with their young talents.

Congrats, didn’t think it was possible but that may just be a worse idea than the 2016 elimination-style qualy format.

This. I’ve been watching for ages and seen qualifying systems come and go. The current one seems popular, but I honestly don’t understand what’s so riveting about spending 25 minutes deciding who’ll start 16th, and then have the 10 best guys scrambling for a lap at the same time at the end of Q3 while we can only

They’re a step ahead of where they finished last year, not where they started. Seems like ages ago but Leclerc actually managed a few (lucky) podiums in the first races of last season.

It’s one of the options that has been discussed. Though it would probably be a qualifying/sprint/feature (grid reversed from sprint) kinda deal.

The new regulations include a lot more standardized (‘prescribed’) parts and less aerodynamic freedom than before, so if anything, the cars will likely look a lot more similar than they do now.

Red Bull has already started work on converting one of their buildings to an engine operation/factory. They will take over Honda’s IP and run the Honda engines under their own branding. As of 2025, when the new engine regulations arrive, they’ll become either a full blown works team or find a new engine partner. The

Even weirder: they copied this awkward and unfunny sequence, stretched it out for two hours, and called it Hobbs and Shaw.

He won the title in his second year, mostly based on his great starts, not outright pace.
