Looking at points is really dangerous when assessing talent. It’s one of the most random statistics available for midfield drivers. Checo’s main strength is his strategic driving and his intelligence in traffic. That’s just not what Red Bull is looking for. They need someone who can outqualify the McLaren’s, Renault’s,

I don’t usually watch Sky, but is it me or is Crofty getting louder every race? Doesn’t anyone ever tell him it’s incredibly unpleasant to have someone screaming at you for 30 seconds straight without taking a breath?

Congrats to Mick I guess. He’s wasn’t a top 4 talent in F2 this year but sure, let’s pretend he’s an F1 calibre driver.

Pit crew weren’t to blame. They didn’t get the proper instructions and believed only Valtteri was pitting.

King Ginger’s response is totally accurate, but on a side-note I’m really curious if we’re going to get a write-up from Elizabeth detailing Jamie Chadwick’s 2020 season. Probably not.

They’ve been doing it for years in F2.

It’s an unfortunate error, but one that can happen. George talked over the initial pitcrew call, so while the pitwall called for a double stack, the pitcrew believed only Valtteri was coming in. But man, they were impressive in correcting their mistake though. Within seconds they figured out what had happened and

Well, Mercedes did. But they did use Perez as a vessel, and for a few days he wasn’t the most popular guy within the team until they realized it was in everyone’s best interest. It’s still a shame he likely won’t be on the grid next year. He could be a great asset to any midfield team.

“and the last two years in particular I think we’ve seen very good growth from him as a driver”

I think the Grosjean take is a little bit exaggerated, but I agree with the general sentiment. Perez’ one major weakness is his outright one lap speed, and what Red Bull needs right now is someone who can deliver on Saturdays so that they don’t get caught up in the upper-midfield battle on Sundays.

Partially his own fault though. He’s rumored to have declined any serious Haas and Alfa talks in favor of waiting for Red Bull’s decision, which was always going to leave him with no other options available.

He’ll be driving the 2020 car.

Oh hell yeah. Santino’s just a douche, Mazepin’s life so far reads like a supervillain’s origin story.

No seats available, unfortunately.

Yes it is.

Must be nice, having Stroll as a teammate. It seemingly makes people forget about the season prior to that, when Perez was outpaced by Ocon.

Forget about Ferrucci, I’m just waiting for the day you do a check up on the history of new Haas driver Nikita Mazepin. That’ll be a fun article. He’s like an evil Lance Stroll.

A word of comfort: Santino has as many superlicense points as you and I do.

Funding shouldn’t be an issue
