Yes, I know, as I’ve mentioned above.

Of course not, but that doesn’t mean that there’s not some truth to the statement that he’s only good when starting in front. The man has 53 victories, which is amazing, but only 6 of those have come in races where he didn’t start front-row (all 6 were from P3 on the grid). Him having never won from outside the top 3

I think Haas have a fairly recent example to prove the whole “talk about me good, talk about me bad, just be talking about me” is bullshit.

Yeah that’s not going to happen. If Mick is right on the threshold of being an F1 calibre driver, Fittipaldi shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near an F1 car.

major teams would rush to give him a seat.

That used to be a thing about drivers that was mentioned a lot... I’m not sure if it’s true but it is interesting to see that the only two (recent) drivers who didn’t show any sign of declining well into their mid-to-late-thirties (and possibly beyond) are Fernando and Lewis, neither of whom have any kids.

If I were a team principal I’d choose him in a second over Ricciardo or Alonso (jesus christ what the fuck).

I like Chaves, but check his performance against F1 calibre drivers in the past and realize that this may not be such a good idea.

That buzz around the Schumacher name will fade quite quickly when people realize he’s not really good enough to be in F1 on merit.

This might be a good time to note that the qualifying gap between Verstappen and Albon in Austria was the third largest of all teams. And while Albon was battling McLarens and Racing Points early in the race, Verstappen was challenging both Mercedes’.

By the end of the year, Schumacher will probably have dropped to third in the Ferrari academy power rankings behind Shwartzman and Armstrong. He’s not a viable option. If it’s exposure and commercial opportunities they want, they should try to snatch Zhou from Renault’s academy, since he’ll be blocked by Alonso & Ocon

Almost as fast as anyone under race conditions, apart from the people who are clearly faster than him. Like his teammate.

that or he likes paychecks a lot.

I fucking hate that quote. It’s bullshit.

Zhou isn’t even the best prospect in that academy. He’s a nice driver, and commercially very interesting, but he’s not the guy who’s going to lead Renault.

Maybe because he’s a double world champion who came within inches of winning three more?

Not only is it not his first year in F1, he has 2 1/2 seasons of experience already. Hardly a rookie.

In which way has Zak Brown been good for the team exactly?

They ‘cheated’ in the same way that every team does.

You know, I might be mistaken but I believe the saying goes “this is what happens when you ditch your engine partner who covers roughly a third of your race team’s operating budget in order to switch to an inferior supplier who you have to pay top dollar to so you can run their exploding power units”.
