Tupiniquim - Our spin is DEAD

Oh, 2 weeks is quite some time to spend there! You should walk around downtown and see some of the historical buildings, around where the city was founded. Make sure to go to Mercadão and enjoy the architecture as well as the food! Other nice museums to check out are MAM (if you’re into modern art), Museu da Imigração

Wow, the world is such a small place! I went to college in Vila Clementino, and lived one train stop over, in Praça da Árvore! You’ve got some good stuff around you: at Av. Luis Goes you can have some great pastel if you go to Yokoyama, a simple spot with lots of great options. If you walk a little bit further you

Brazilian living in the US here, got back from a visit to my family in SP a little over a month ago! Have fun and eat pastel for me, please ;-)

It looks like he got ripped overnight. He’s never been this jacked before, that’s the change. And it IS newsworthy, as well as droolworthy.

Exactly. MLK was so right, these people are especially damaging to any cause.

Yeah, the people who put this panel together either a) thought Oliver wasn’t the kind of moderator who would bring this up or b) didn’t think the allegations against Hoffmann would be a topic of discussion. Either way, that was a huge blind spot. De Niro was in the movie too, why not have him over?

I saw an article on BuzzFeed with reactions from the people who were there, and many were like “what a bummer, why did Oliver have to change the subject/make everyone uncomfortable/forget he was there to discuss the film?” or “this is not the time or the place to put Hoffmann in that situation!” Those are probably the

Yeah, I’ve been here since the foundation and I’ve been a commenter for years - I’ve learned a lot from the people here, who are by and large the most insightful, accepting and educated group of commenters you’ll ever meet online. But to the writing staff I think we’re supposed to be an echo chamber of yes people,

It’s a mystery to me. Amy hates all dogs, but never did anything to Willow (she only growls when Willow threatens to step on her by accident), and Willow knows Amy is the boss around here, so she respects the hell out of Amy. They get along great, to my surprise.

Lol Amy treated the tree skirt as an additional blanket too... I’m sure I’ll find her hidden in the middle of the presents on Christmas morning!

Yeah, it’s been happening across the board, and a lot of good people are gone as a result. It gives me the impression maybe comments don’t drive pageviews, or whatever metric matters to them. They can just afford to lose regular readers like that. It’s crazy disrespectful.

Thanks, I like seeing you around too! I may not be around as much, but you can catch Amy and Willow on Instagram, the account is amy_and_willow. You’ll find high quality content like this:

Oh, I made a (respectful) negative comment on an article by Megan Reynolds, and the next day I was grey. I’m somewhere between outraged, bummed and in disbelief. It’s so petty, such a display of blatant disregard for their readers, that I haven’t been around much anymore. I like most of the writing and I love you

Spent the day putting up holiday decorations, now I’m wiped out. Amy liked the tree skirt:

So long, Kate! I’ve always enjoyed your writing, and you will be sorely missed!

That’s true, I’m sorry. Not only cis women get harrassed and assaulted. I stand corrected.

Oh, I just committed the cardinal sin of saying an article was heavy-handed and poorly written. That’s all it takes apparently.

Yeah, it seems to happen quite often. It doesn’t even matter if the tone was respectful or playful, they’ll just get all grim reaper on us if our take rubs them the wrong way. So mature.

An article that was heavy-handed and a poorly directed attempt at snark came out yesterday, and I stated my opinion. As it turns out, having anything but praise for the writers seems to be a huge no-no. Makes me wonder why I come here at all.

Ooooh, I appear to be back in the grays! Got the message, Jez: never criticize you guys, never.
