welp, never thought i'd say this but...
i think a lot of it has to do with how you were raised, what your family members listened to... i knew who the beatles were by the time i was 6 for the same reason i knew who cary grant and katharine hepburn were - because my parents listened to the beatles and watched those classic movies.
