Belief in science and belief in God are not mutually exclusive. My father was a NASA engineer, my mother was a math & science teacher and now directs a planetarium. Both are/were Episcopalian and it meant a lot to them.

God is hard to replace in my vocab and I’ve tried to come up with ways to convey myelf without it. You come across as an idiot when you’re clearly replacing it in a statement. Goodness sounds goody two shoes, Dog you’re being a juvenile pseudo anarchist, Fuck doesn’t express it correctly, Spaghetti Monster is cute but…
We need more black believers in science.
The sound of the baby’s heart eventually breaks the moment of silence and Zoey says, “Thank you, God,” which could be an instinctual reaction from her—she could still be questioning her beliefs.
Ya, but reminding everyone that you were against FDR is an odd way to go about underlining your credibility on the subject and set up an endorsement.
I kind of thought “we didn’t like JFK but we like Hillary” was a pretty strong message.
Look how terrible we are! And Trump is even worse than us!
They did it in kind of a curious way, focusing on all the great American presidents they didn’t support:
Hmm. Looks like airport security just didn’t have ... the guts.
Um, agreed. Calling this ableist is a gigantic reach.
I clearly misunderstood what site I was reading. I thought this was Gawker Media, and that disrespectful discourse was the order of the day here. I am delighted to discover that has apparently changed and am happy to rephrase:
Thank you. This is such a ridiculous reaction. There is no implication in this video that you must be able bodied to overcome the actual hurdles that women face, the ones being talked about by Watson. It’s a metaphor and it’s not exclusive. Gotta find a way to be critical of the white feminist though.
The video is well-intentioned, but the metaphor of jumping hurdles, not to mention the doubling down on athletic prowess, seems especially ableist in this context.
The world, it needs an anthem
For all of womankind
The song to fight, the song to right
The wrongs of all of time
So we put pen to paper
And wrote all through the night
A gorgeous ode to feminism
Well within our sights

And thisone is light-skinned, so it won’t be blackface when whiye kids wear it! Because we only care about how the costume affects white kids.
Luckily! You can go get the Rock’s colored skin outfit and just put a wig on. Then you can still be a Polynesian with tattoos!
Hey look! Its a moron with unjustified outrage who thinks they are 20 times more clever than they are! Hi moron with unjustified outrage who thinks they are 20 times more clever than they are!
I’m not Kryptonian, can I wear a Superman costume?
I have quite a few Polynesian friends, and I asked them about the costume. None of them thought it was problem, but they also didn’t know anything about the movie.
Does anybody have any personal knowledge of Polynesian being offended at costume?
