There is a documentary about that whole incident on Netflix.

Fine. Buy a significant share... LOL
That was a typo. The article posted stated 17.4 sec @ 79MPH
Or just buy out Mazda....
1987 Buick GNX
I know there were. The full size trucks, the F-bodies and a couple others I am sure I have forgotten. We call them mini-quads in GMland.
Those were probably still brigher. :)
F-body?! Try a 90s Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe or Ponitac Grand Prix coupe. I would forget my high beams on either my 93 Olds or 97 Olds and wouldn’t even get flashed. They were freaking terrible.
They did. It was called the Trooper.
Same thing late 80s Pontiac owners did I assume. :)
And has become pretty routine for most GM engines as well. I am not blind, GM built some real shit for a LONG time. That particular engine is kind of the first of the breed to be better. To be fair, it is an Opel design. :)
And really, the Cobalt wasn’t really a bad car. Solid, reliable, handles fairly well even in base trim, great mileage and fairly quick(with the manual trans). Very cheap interior? Yes. Bland? Yes. If that is all it takes for someone to call it “bad”, maybe they should actually drive a shitty car. One that can’t make…
206500 miles. Original clutch and battery. 10 years old. 26.5 mpg all city driving(less than 10 blocks to work one way). As high as 42.5 when it’s all highway. No real rust to speak of. Spent the first 8 years of life in Wisconsin. Yes very boring. They are a boring car unless you get the SS. But dependable as the day…
Agreed. I have an 05 base sedan that has never failed me in the almost 7 years I have owned it. it has 206500 miles and the original clutch and battery, gets 26.5mpg in all city driving and handles my constant beating on it. Just don’t understand the hate for these old “A” bodies.
I have an 05 base sedan. It has been exceptionally reliable if boring. It still has the original battery and clutch at 206500 miles! All solid city driving i am still getting 26.5 mpg and I don’t baby it either. I really don’t understand the hate for these cars. Other than they are boring to look at.
That Ecotec in any car is impossible to kill. I should know. I have one in my 05 Cobalt with a manual and my wife’s 05 VUE with a manual. Cobalt has 206500 on it and the VUE has 177000. Both run great yet.
To be fair, that Ecotec is rather hard to kill.
I also have both and thought Bubsy (the first one) was a blast!
45 mins.... 60 mins... close enough. LOL
And took about an hour to get to 60. :)
