You do realise religions aren’t monoliths, right? People deal with stuff differently. Some people take the easily offended/”you must never joke about this subject ever” route. To others, humour (especially gallows humour) is a healthy outlet. People need to stop being the fucking joke police and just stop watching Noah if you hate him so much.

I know that’s what you meant. But that’s what I don’t get. Why do people judge others for their choice to adopt abroad rather than at home.

I’ve known several couples who started out wanting to adopt in the US and ended up doing it internationally because of the ridiculous bureaucratic nonsense they encountered in the US, and the ridiculous wait times. Maybe it varies state to state. Also, these are couples who wanted babies/infants, not older children.

You sometimes do though. Plenty of people terminate pregnancies when tests or ultrasounds show that the foetus has some kind of syndrome or disorder or malformation. And I don’t judge them for choosing to do that so why would I judge people for only wanting to adopt healthy children?
