Of course it was never going to be a blockbuster - it’s a political black comedy about Bolivian elections! Just because Sandra bullock is in it doesn’t mean that the average moviegoer who’s into “Speed” or “The Blind Side” Sandra Bullock is going to have any interest in seeing this, regardless of the trailer. And

It’s the opposite. It’s a black comedy that turns the White saviour narrative on its head. But you’d know that if you read up on it a little instead of repeating the narrative jez is pushing like a parrot.

You’re right. But of course your comment is grey whereas the idiots repeating word for word what Escobedo told them to say based on a trailer and zero knowledge of the story at hand and a zealous need to push a certain narrative (even if it means having to lie) are the ones pushed to the top of the page because, you

Except it’s not a white saviour movie. Actually it’s the opposite. But, you know, God forbid you actually do something research or even watch the movie. It’s not doing well because halloween weekend is not a good time for Political black comedies and because the movie itself is uneven. Just because Escobedo Shepherd

Then maybe don’t own a gun if you’re so psychologically fragile you will lose your shit and your capacity to act rationally over a rubber spider?

Practical jokers are terrible, awful people.

His coworkers may be dicks but the guy is a criminal and a violent asshole.

The same applied to nicole Kidman and both her kids and yet she lost them in the divorce with Tom.

Katie had way more leverage than Nicole though. First, she planned ahead (apartment, lawyer, security) but also, she had some kind of dirt on Tom that explains why she was allowed to retain custody of her kid whereas Nicole not only lost custody of her kids with Tom, she didn’t really get much visitation either. So I

Of course she did. Her not speaking out against Scientology was probably part of the deal she made with Tom Cruise so that she could keep her kid, unlike poor Nicole Kidman. I’m also convinced Holmes was only able to swing such a deal because she had dirt on Tom.

The owner is a fucking idiot.

The only time I’ve seen her looking *almost* elegant (Elbaz is a genius but not a magician and not even the most elegant couture can et rid of kim’s air de trash). But at least for once she’s not wearing a too tight flesh-toned sausage casing.

So she should just pretend that rape isn’t an issue in prison and that prison authorities actually do anything about it?

You'd think Lanvin would he worth more with Elbaz on board than without.

Why? Unless he’s mocking the slaves as opposed to the plantation owners. Comedy can be a powerful tool for social commentary/critique.

Is that written in stone somewhere? I think everyone is allowed to make fun of the nazis, in fact I think it should be encouraged.

Elbaz makes more sense at Dior than Simons ever did but I'd still hate to see him leave Lanvin. You're probably right about Galliano needing to leave Dior but those golden years he had there were really really golden.

This. People don’t realise how thoroughly and completely Germany has dealt with its past. If most countries did even half of what they have done, the world would be better off. But hey, who cares about facts, as usual, it’s just Jezebel is trying to manufacture unjustified outrage over comedy.

I can’t wait. The first movie was just ok but the two after that were great. I don’t mind the ‘extra’ movie. It’s something I’m glad they did with the last Harry Potter too. The book was too big to be a single movie, unless they left out a lot of important things. That’s one reason I feel that a miniseries is the way

Elbaz is quite possibly my favourite living designer. The man is a genius. I’m sure he’ll do brilliant work wherever he goes but I’ll be sad to see him leave Lanvin - I felt like they were such a good fit in a way that I don’t see him being at Dior. I love Raf Simons too but I was actually glad to see him leave Dior
