No, her lawyer tweets for her. Missing from you comment: “in my day, if a prisoner wanted to tweet she had to walk 13 miles in the snow, barefoot, and sign 37 firms to be granted oermission. Tsk tsk”

I’m aware of that. I was merely replying to the author of this piece who claimed that Rand’s position on marijuana is the only one that’s reasonable.

Not just marijuana. Rand Paul also opposes the increased militarization of police and mandatory minimum sentences, and supports restoring voting rights to convicted felons,

Dude, no worries! :)

I’m Latin American. I was speaking based on my experience in my culture. I do think that, on the whole, we tend to be slightly more conservative than average and not only for religious reasons. Catholicism alone doesn’t make you right of centre.

I may be white but I’m also Latin American so no, I’m not lumping anyone into the same voting bloc. I’m just saying that culturally Latinos/Hispanics tend to be fairly conservative.

Agree. That said, Rubio has a better chance of getting the Hispanic vote than a black Republican candidate does of getting the black vote. Hispanics/Latin Americans are naturally more conservative than black Americans. I think if it weren’t for the immigration issue, Hispanics would mostly be in the Republican camp,

Maybe. At the same time, I can see how women who are already conservative might see Fiorina and think “finally a woman I can vote for” because any other Republican women in leadership positions (Palin, Bachman, etc) were too stupid to take seriously.

I think there’s something else afoot and he’s probably insane or deranged in some way because the kidnapper is a Harvard educated lawyer who was disbarred for incompetence. I don’t think this is about money per se.

Ha! If anything, math is the only subject where I would need a trigger warning ;)

No, I get what they are. I think we’ve stablished that we agree on definition of trigger warnings. I get that they’re not aimed at stopping a discussion from taking place so there’s no need to keep rehashing that point. What we disagree on is their necessity and that what you call a simple heads up/common courtesy, I

At least you only got greyed. I got blocked/dismissed for saying less to [redacted] and had to create yet another profile.

I actually DIDN’T say that I “wanted trigger warnings before difficult subjects.”

YOU want trigger warnings before addressing important and difficult subjects in class. Or are you pretending you didn’t say that? It’s not about winning an argument, it’s that you don’t even know what you think beyond wanting to insult anyone who doesn’t agree that trigger warnings are necessary in academia.

LOL WHAT?? If you’re studying to be a psychologist of any kind - and especially a child psychologist - and this is an academic setting, you sure as hell should be able to see a child being born. Are you fucking kidding me? Trigger warnings for psychology students? I mean, I don’t believe in them at all but even less

Riiiiight. My “narrative”. LOL Nice cop out there. I guess that means I was right, never mind that you said as much when you wrote that trigger warnings are necessary to “let students know when something is coming up that will be both important and very difficult”. In other words, certain subjects. At least be honest

Both women appear to be somewhat emotionally compromised

Agree. Replace Republican with religious conservative, in this case of the Catholic variety. I’m just wary of any and all organisation/hospital/business that is openly religious and avoid them in general. Anyone who doesn’t think religion is a private matter and runs their business based on religious ideology and

Isn’t that what the course syllabus is for? Students can read that and they know what’s coming. No trigger warning needed.

No one is refusing to listen. We just don’t agree that trigger warnings are necessary. I know it’s hard for you to understand but it’s very possible to understand perfectly well what the other side is saying, and still disagree. No one is conflating anything. Even if they are just a heads up and aren’t, technically
