I watched Batman and Harley Quinn. Melissa Rauch voicing Quinn switches well between fun, dangerous and vulnerable if a little to close to her BBT characters voice at times. The film is a good long episode of Batman the animated series made more tentatively adult. The scene between Nightwig and Harley unabashedly goes

Sonic the Hedgehog. Brisk & fun, it felt like a really good kids cartoon episode. I liked the parallels between Sonic and Dr Robotnik, their oddity formed from isolation and their gifts, and how they diverge from each other. Jim Carey is the highlight.

Rewatched Napoleon Dynamite. I’d forgotten how pretty it can be.

I guess this shows how rather than technological progress leading to some form of utopia it mostly just magnifies extant behaviour.

Half way through A Fire Upon The Deep by Vernor Vinge. I’m loving the concept of the zones of thought, vaguely wondering if this influenced books like Terminal World and The Stars Now Unclaimed, and a little taken aback by how prescient his galactic network is of aspects of the Internet today. His aliens! Loving the

says, “Gina, I’m home” like the world’s baldest Frankenstein.”

Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World. A film were the apocalypse is the MPDG. I was expecting it would stick to the “Friendpremise of the title so was initially a little bit put out by the way our protagonists relationship played out. However, afterwards it dawned on me thats because I couldn’t see it lasting,

Second time seeng Rise of Skywalker. I hoped to enjoy it more as I knew what to expect. Instead I became progressively more irritated.

Like iZombie then?

Rise of Skywalker was okay. Someone said it feels like a missed opportunity and I agree. I’m sad it doesn’t excite me enough to bother writing more about it. Maybe I’ll see it again with appropriate expectations and hopefully enjoy it more.

Jumanji: The Next Level. A few more jokes but less entertaining than Welcome To The Jungle, still an enjoyable time. If they do a another I’m there for it.

When spelt phonetically it’s: Raymond Luxury Yaght. Pronounced just as you’d expect.

Mostly been out present hunting. With no idea what gifts to get i find walking around the shops more helpful than looking around amazon or suchlike. Some sucess.

Knives Out. Fun, funny and carries you through the twists seemingly with little effort. Its like a roller coaster in that you know an enormous amount of effort went into it because the construction is on display, but that only matters to you if it goes wrong and it doesn’t. Watching it i felt something akin to that chi

The Beethoven clip made me laugh so hard and I don’t have a clue why.

Ill and bored at home past few days so YouTube was ideal when I had energy enough for short moments of attention. One particular reaction channel - The Matthews Fam - has reintroduced me to the joy of Weird Al music videos, then led me to Epic Rap Battles of History which is just fantastic. The Ivan the Terrible vs Ale

Sweetcorn as a snack as you describe it sounds delicious.

Watched Incredibles 2 yesterday. Easily the second best Fantastic Four movie after the first Incredibles and the drop off between second and third place is extensive. Even though i don’t dislike the Ioan Gruffudd films. They had some good points. I think. It has been a while.

Well, it was a pleasure to watch that again. I remember being affected by the end when I first watched it and I was yet again. Harry Dean Stanton and Richard Farnsworth (who is excellent throughout) have such a short moment to make good on the emotional weight built through Alvin’s journey . Somehow, Stanton does this

It’s Sunday afternoon , dreary and the hangover hasn’t quite dissipated. So I’m going to sit down with some Bulleit Rye and watch The Straight Story because 20 years is to damn long not to have watched it again.
