Don’t think this is a total pullout. RuAF will remain cause Assad still needs airpower to retake Palmyra, Raqqa, and the whole of Aleppo. (Latakia is almost done soo stringent airstrikes is not need).

I don’t believe the RuAF will be withdrawing. Assad still needs airpower and Palmyra and Raqqa still needs to be taken. If RuAF is staying so will be a contingent of ground forces to protect the base.

This program is too big to fail. They will make it work. US’s strategic advantage—in terms of exports of fighter aircrafts—is at stake. If this program fails, so goes the share of US’s fighter jet market.

I think it was suppose to be a destroyer to like counter the US Zumwalt and also replace the Kirov or something.......Essentially, they envision a very big ship packed with lots of missiles....so yeah 10K displacement sounds about right.

Future of naval warfare will rarely, no....will never be between ships vs ships. It will be more like Navy ship vs Enemy jet, Air to Surface Missiles (or Air-launched anti-ship missiles), Cruise missiles, Land-based anti-ship missiles, and ballistic missiles.
