Hugh Jackman, goddamnit. He actually played him and I would love to see him in the movie if they had had the money to add him. (And no, I don’t see a problem in the age difference because Gaston is an amazingly disgusting piece of shit with ambiguous age in the movie so why not cast an over-40 to woo a young lady).

I want to see Gaston!

Semi-counterpoint, while as an adult I agree that Cats is dreadful, as a little kid, seeing Cats and The Phantom of the Opera was awesome and sparked an interest in theatre and the arts. And oftentimes in smaller cities these shows are the only type of musical theatre that they get.

Sometimes

ooooo, good to know! I used to get mine at H&M in the basics section, but I haven’t been able to find the ones I like there anymore. I’m kind of freaking out about it, because mine are getting too stretched out and I haven’t been able to replace them in some time.

The Lobster has its dark moments but ultimately it’s not as dark or as f***ed up as Dogtooth. I really liked it whereas I found Dogtooth very uncomfortable and kind of downright nasty in places. The Lobster is lighter. I don’t want to say too much more because I think being over descriptive does you no great service.

I’ve seen it. The playing-it-straight is a bit disorienting at first, but in my theatre, people were howling out loud. I liked it a lot.

I’ve seen it twice and it is a phenomenal piece of work. In terms of the reservations you raise - don’t overthink it. The world that is set up is so complete that very soon you are totally immersed. There is no wink to camera. It’s very clever.

OOO we’re planning a visit up there this summer!

He’s reached his final form!!
