Lords and Ladies is my favorite of the witches books. And I am a super fan of Vimes, so any of my watchmen books are awesome! Wait until you get to Nightwatch, it’s my favorite!

I just grabbed the Liveship trilogy by Robin Hobb. Amazon has the whole trilogy in ebook form in a bundle for $20. I’m traveling this next week, two full days of travel (with 4 days of science! conference in between) so need plenty of reading material.
I’ll have to find that one!
I love this series so much. LJ Smith mostly gets recognition for the Vampire Diaries, but this series is what hooked me. I reread them yearly.
It was weird for me to read about the backyard picture representing wealth. I lived in a small, house in the city with a backyard. It was not in an expensive area, my neighbors were all blue collar workers, and I was a grad student making almost nothing. My husband was the stay at home dad because we couldn’t afford…
Will do as commanded
Here were my issues with the pilot:
Ha ha, no. But if you ever get up into deep east Maine, the maine accent is something else. A friend once described it as someone talking with a mouthful of marbles.
an alb lobster is a typo. But I guess I can’t edit it anymore. I meant a 2 lb lobster.
I usually get a 1-1.5 lb anyway, I can’t eat anything bigger than that. Especially not if I get an order of steamers as well!
I’ve heard that about the female lobsters.
That is true, I found a fishmonger where the lobsters are cheaper.
I live in Maine, so lobster is everywhere (especially when the tourists come) and what’s interesting is how the sizes of lobsters have changed. I’ve heard so many stories about how lobsters used to be so common that you could find them on the beaches. And they were like 4 pounds easy. Now a 1 lb lobster is $15-20 and…
Oh I am so afraid to reread these books because I loved them as a young kid/teen. I want to read them again, but maybe it’s better if I keep the idealized version in my head
Same for me. I don’t live in Portland (I’m farther north and east) but Maine doesn’t get enough love.
I feel like the non intense Paleo diet is really just the kind of balanced diet that my doctors always tried to get me to eat: a healthy portion of vegetables, some protein, minimally processed food. Where the more standard Paleo is different has a degree of “Thou Shalt Nots”. It’s the feeling that you can’t deviate…
Which one was he?
Is it weird that watching the Young Anakin audition tape, I see why they picked Jake Loyd? I didn’t like the movie, or his acting for most of it, but that clip wasn’t bad. I wish they had kept him more of the wistful little boy who wants to grow up, rather than the annoying over confidant kid who thinks he can do…
I read the Princess Bride before there was a lot of information on the internet, and I was really confused by how much of his introduction was real. Like, I believed he had a son who had a hard time reading the unabridged version. But the whole introduction felt like a story in itself. I remember having discussions…
Really? I always thought he was trolling his fans by putting a chapter of Buttercup’s Baby in the 20th edition; I never expected he would actually finish it.
