It looks like 5'10" is still pretty much average in the US, but this chart does show the differences between black, white and mexican americans (wikipedia, so grain of salt).

I'm in a PhD program at a well known R1 university, and looking at my class specifically, there are no ivy leagues represented. Most of us came from small liberal arts colleges or state universities.
Oh of my friends was ranting this week about the stupid legislation regarding women's health issues that Republicans have been making of late, so this image is perfect! I just sent it to her. Thanks :)
I found your initial statement to be excessively rude itself, so I responded like with like.
Lots of people have admitted that they are similar. I've seen a number of articles written about the similarities and differences between the two. So yeah, that's been done, happy? Just get over it already. It's really annoying to see people like come in to EVERY single post about the Hunger Games and mention…
Yeah I had an issue with the lack of outdoors activities in my GS troop. Problem was that when I was too young to join GS I was allowed to tag along to my brother's boy scout meetings sometimes, and my first day camp experience was actually at a boy scouts camp where I learned sign language and to swim in a big dirty…
The one they did in Baltimore brought people from really far away. I met one woman from North Carolina.
There is a Zombie 5k in the US. It started last October in Baltimore, but now there's a bunch of cities!

That reminds me of when I give my dog a large knotted rawhide. He gnaws at it for a bit and then decides he wants to bury it. So he looks for the usual spots: our dirty clothes, our clean clothes, the bookshelf or DVD case. But if we've done the laundry and the bone is too big for the bookshelf then he starts to…
"[Men] are in a total state of confusion… Sensitive males are wary, not knowing where to look."
I love that he said "zed." It makes me very happy :)
Are you honestly saying that stereotypes are never wrong? That everyone fits their stereotype? I've worked in retail/service and I had the opposite reaction. You often could never tell which group might be terrible to serve and which would be awesome.
To be fair, it might matter more to people who have Down Syndrome or parents of kids with Down Syndrome. I noticed right away but I work in the DS field, and people who have DS or are related to people with DS probably also would also likely notice. One of the reasons Noah is being pointed out is because of his dad.
:) no problem, I work on studying the genetics of DS. This article made me so happy I showed it all around the lab.
Just a nitpick, but Down Syndrome is actually Trisomy 21 not T18.
For what it's worth, I wrote to Ellie about rape apologism and rape culture and explaining why her advice was hurtful and bad. She wrote this back:
To be fair, it probably takes you less time since it sounds like you bake a lot. For someone who doesn't bake a lot, and someone who may not enjoy it either, it's likely to take a lot longer. I like baking, but it certainly takes me more than 5 minutes to make the dough, and then there's the clean up factor.
